_____Wednesday, October 27, 2004, is probably one of the best days I've had in a long while. Although it rests in the middle of the five day school week in which one would assume to be slow and deathly boring, I found it to be quite the enjoyable oasis of rest and fun from the intensity of the school days.
_____Being a Blue Day in the school's block schedule, I found myself waking energetically at around 7:10 AM, sleeping in compared to my usual 6 AM schedule. What purpose was there to get up when my first class was late arrival? Heading to school near 8:40, I found the next destination to be no heavier in terms of work as my last- Study Hall. Do I sound lazy? Maybe so, but that's not the point of this rant.
_____Today was Cross Country Districts. Leaving classes at 11:45-ish AM and leaving at noon was uncommon for this annual event. With my third class of the day, math, starting at 11:35, I found the only actual learning I had to endure for the day was roughly ten minutes in length.
_____Ah, the sweet sanctity that is district. The race of races for the average runner's season (excluding the invitationals like Trask), teams gather from throughout the league to compete all through the afternoon. Unfortunately, as fate would have it, I would only break my PR (personal record) by 6 seconds, moving my current best 5k time to 20 minutes and 47 seconds (god I so wanted to shatter at least 20 minutes).
_____Well, as things usually go, my day wouldn't end here. There was still a little get together at Round Table Pizza near Marylhurst University. Arriving upon the location, I confronted the horror that is soccer parties. Numerous teams (little girl teams) were celebrating what seemed to be the season's end in the middle of the week. With the rides that dropped off the majority of the teammates gone, we had to...err...make due with what we had available in order to make it to the other Round Table Pizza in Lake Grove...pile nine teenage guys into a small Ford Taurus... sweatdrop
