I once again realized something that might seem absurd to you but is pretty normal to us Finns. I was standing on a railway station waiting for my boyfriend to pick me up and I notice once again that some one leaves their car, running in front of the station while they go inside to help heir relatives or some one to carry all the stuff to train. It's quite normal in this kind of town and it really made me think how much we Finns actually trust to each other. Today I could of easily walked into that car and drive away. No one would of stopped me and the owner was away long enough that no one would of noticed anything. Nothing happened to that car and after about 15 minutes the owner drowe off happily.
I once talked with an spanian exchange student and for him it was really crazy to see that in the cafeterias you could usually self pick your stuff first and then go pay at the cashier. We trust you not to take anything even though you could in many cases take stuff without anyone noticing. For him it was really unthinkable but for us it's normal. Also he told us that leaving your kid outside on your yard to sleep on their carry is not possible in there. Here it's quite normal habbit, especially during winters because kids sleep better outside.
I was baffled to hear this. For us all this is quite normal. Finns are not ofcourse perfect country but very rare ordinary people steal in places like that. It's just unthinkable for us. It's nice to see that eventhough this country has problems we aren't the worst case scenario yet.

I can't even imagine it.
That is sad.
