Just thoughts
Untitled, as of yet. Its the prolouge to my book.
Prologue

The wind; it carries so many secrets and stories that others have forgotten.
If you listen hard enough, you can catch small whispers but never the full story. You're going to hear a story that many thought ended long, long ago in a place that has been forgotten, in a time that was all but erased from the pages of history.

I'll tell you... the ending. Why, you ask? Because at the ending is where a true story begins. It happened on a night so dark that it seemed no light could break. The rain came down so thickly that you'd think heaven itself was flooding. The tall grasses and old trees swayed violently, and a single flame burned luminously. A tall castle stood off to the side of a small village. It seemed to hang in the night air, eerie and dreadful. You'd think the lord of darkness himself lived there. In reality, it was the home of the three chosen, the three Lady's, the three goddess's.
Now, you see that we join them on their final night or so it seemed. An army of men stood in the clearing that separated the castle from the grand forest, a home to the elves. The doors stood open and there she stood: the lady of water and of love. Her dark hair hung limply at her side; her once flowing blue dress clung to her body. You could see in her eyes that she stood there to protect. A crystal shone brightly against her skin; her arms stayed to her chest, where she held a single candle. It's flame fought bravely against the rain and wind. It fought a dying cause. Beside her stood a young lady, her dark blue eyes fierce, a true killing glare. She wore no crystal but the same flowing dress, except green. She was the lady of earth and of life. That left the young man, his eyes full of sorrow. He wore not but a lowly soldier's uniform; his dark cloak hung limply to his shoulders. He seemed to be frightened or sad, possibly both.
The lady of earth, she withdrew a simple sword. Casting one glance to the boy, and the other to her sister. No words. No words would ever tell of her bravery, or for what she felt. She would not allow them too, that would show her regret. Her weakness. All three nodded knowing what must be done, the lady of earth, and the soldier grasped each other's hands tightly. Then they ran, the arrows flew not a second later. The air filled with the sound of them whizzing past the couples head. It appeared as if they'd make it to the forest. To safety. But no, an arrow flew hitting the lady of earth. She fell.
The lady of water stood there. Her eyes overflowed with water. With each tear that fell, it seemed the rain thickened. And finally when it seemed she couldn't watch a second longer. The flame died. She turned from the scene that played out before her. As her plan was set into motion. Her bare feet made almost no sound on the stone floor. She ran, as fast as she could. Down the corridors, through the doors, and finally up the staircase. Sprawled out before her bedroom door lay her other sister. The lady of fire, and wisdom.
Her eyes wide open, her last memory seemed to play over, and over again within them. A look of pain etched across her face. As the lady of water bent down to close her sister's eyes, a surge of pain so strong, ran through her body. It is said that when you touch the dead their last emotions run through you. The last lady's hand withdrew quickly, her breathing shallowed. Once more she held her hand out gingerly, clutching the crystal that lay across her dead sister's chest.
With that done, she ran, far away from the corpse. Her body ached, as well as her spirit, but she couldn't stop. The door to her room lay open closing it softly as she entered. Her mind fought back the thoughts, of her dead sisters, as she opened a box. A soft tune filled the air causing her to cringe back in surprise. Once more she fought the urge to cry, and she grabbed the last crystal that lay hidden in the music box. Lastly she took off her crystal, the three hung in the air shining brightly.

Her mouth opened, and her soft delicate voice rang out over the still air.

"You have served well but you must go.
For your masters are dead, and lay upon the floor.
Go to the next heir, of water, fire, earth and air.
For they will await for you to arrive.

Sleep now my spirits, and wait for the day that peril will rise once again.
And you will anew open your eyes to the three.
Until never, will we meet again.
Remember your vow, to stay strong and true.

Until the end, will the job be through."

With the final words said the crystals grew dark, and off they flew with the box. Now the last remaining sister stood, with nothing but a sword. Her footsteps made no noise as she walked down the stairs. Her eyes moist with the unshed tears. The corridors dark, the only light came from the throne room, so faint almost barely there. The door stood ajar, creaking ever so softly, as she entered. A lone figure stood his sword drawn, his eyes, were mad. Filled with thoughts of lust, and hate.

"Papa..." She spoke softly her voice sounded hurt. "Forgive me.." Her sword rose, and fell. Only one lost their life that night. And it was she. For another sword had fallen and pierced her heart, before she could commit the deed. To kill her own father, the king. Her innocent blood now lay on the floor, her scream was heard throughout the world.

That night, the rain died, the forest grew closer together, the flames have never brought as much warmth.

And, a war was born.
