I leaned deep into Anako, feeling his heart rythmically beating. Mine was racing so fast it was a wonder I hadn't fallen dead from cardiac arrest! I snuggled in closer, our bodies locking together like puzzle pieces. I pulled his cloak around the two of us, ungulfing us in its dark body. I felt so tired, so very tired. I faintly remembered being brought to bed but I was tired. He just made me drowsy. I guess there really must be some stress in story telling. As the night flitted through my mind I could see him staring endlessly out my window. Every time my eyes drooped shut, seeming to stay closed for hours on end, he'd drift further and further away. I tried to reach out but I was tired. So very tired... I felt heavy, maybe I've gained weight. I hope not, that could cost me my job... Finally my eyes fell shut, my mind went black, and sleep over took me. It felt so good to fall from my heavy body.
I sat up groaning in protest to the brillent sunlight pouring into my room. Anako must have forgotten to close the blindes last night. I pulled on a long flowing robe and padded out to the kitchen. Anako sat at the table with what appeared to be tarot cards laid out before them. "Oh! That's neat!" I Shout, seating myself across from him. "Can you do psycic readings?" I asked, my eyes suddenly opening at the possibility of learning something new about him, ever the mystery he was. He stared at me like I was speaking Swahili. "Fortune telling?" I asked, pointing to the cards. I could see it starting to come back. He chuckled slightly, more like a self depreciating chuckle. "These are cards of the past. They won't foretell your future." He said waving his arm across the face down cards. "Then tell me of my past." I challenged. He shrugged and gathered the cards. He placed his hand over top, whispering a pray or something over them. He motioned for me to lean over to him. I slowly leaned across the table, slightly wary of his intentions. He gently slid his hand into my hair, he twisted it around then sharply yanked a few hairs out. "Ow! That hurt!" I shouted, pulling back. He seemed to completely ignore me... He placed my hairs into the middle of the deck then shuffled the cards. It looked like the cards were devouring my hairs! They never left the middle but slowly the were drawn into the cards, inch by inch. Finally he stopped and spread the thin deck across my tiny table. His hand traced along the backs of all the cards. As if by magic a few cards sporadically slid forward towards me. "Pick up those cards." He instructed me and I followed. I had a 6 cards, one with two masks, one happy the other sad; a card with ying-yang on it; A card with a smudge of black and little splatters of blue on it; One depicting a ferious rain fall; One with a little streak of yellow that might be a lightning bolt... that or a pair pants; And the final card had pair of lollipops that appeared to be stuck together on it. "Arrange the cards in any order." He said, shuffeling the deck up again. I quickly placed the lollipops on top, next the ying-yang, followed by the rain storm, then the masks, then the lightning bolt pants, finall the black and blue splotched card. He placed 6 cards face down on the table. "One here," He said pointing to the first card on my left, "six here." He said pointing to far tight one, "One being the lowest." He instructed and waited while I put them over the cards he laid out. He flipped up the cards, revealing them left to right. A red moon, a green sprig, a golden leaf, a black quarter moon, an icy crystal, and lastly a violet budding rose. "I've seen a person..." He said, his hand hovering over the cards. "She was... you're mother." He said, opening his eyes. They were so intense as they fell on me, making a shiver run up and down my spine. "You watched her commit unholy deeds and you have followed her steps." He said, each word ringing true. "You've lost her, and each day the thought of reunion fades a bit." He said, and how shocked I was at his correct reading! "However you have a renewed hope. Tainted but still present." He said, his eyes burning into my brain. I nodded slowly, shaken by his reading. "...H-how...??" I managed to stutter. "It has been written, one just must read to know." He said, collecting his cards and placing them within the folds of his robe. I couldn't believe what I had just heard. Could it really be that easy to learn of my past? Was it on public record or something and he just looked it up? No. Not possible. What he did was authentic. I thas to be. I returned my gaze to him to find him standing at the window, staring out at the tip of the statue of Corellion. I heard a faint cracking noise, and looked around for it. A flicker in my peripherals turned my attention back to Anako. Lines coursed up his ridgid form, spider-webbing out from his shoulders and hips. The lines raced out, spreading across his perfect form. Suddenly his form shattered, leaving a faintly glow god in his place. He turned to me, his hypnotic blue eyes capturing me under their spell. "Rhyns..." He murmured, his eyes reflecting my awed self in them. "Why don't you come with me?" He asked loftily, a dimly glowing hand reached out to me. I took it, gingerly grasping the ivory hand, not wanting to mar his perfect skin. I looked up into Anako's gleaming eyes again, his black hair spilling onto his face, waving across his face. "See how I see." He said and everything shattered around me, dropping me into a dark abyss. Black. Void. Nothingness. Eternal darkness.
