Waterhouses
.
I went to Waterhouses amd walked along the Manifold Track before heading toward the church in the field - well, it's not in the middle of the village. There's a marvellous c**k-eyed Norman arch in the chancel and I made my usual contribution - a non-Christian [well not acting] doing his bit for the Church of Jesus [and why not].
After the church I tried to find a way back on various footpaths but after two failed attempts - too many nettles, too much overgrowth etc. I gave up and used a very quite country lane.
Had some turkey sandwiches and a portion of chips at about 5pm [lunch !] at The George. Their speciality is fresh fish which would appeal to Beeba as she likes fish [all those bones : shudder].
Heard a Green Woodpecker a couple of times otherwise there weren't many birds about.
This evening I'm going to watch Donnie Darko which I haven't seen so far - I should really be cleaning up in view of Beeba returning ......... perhaps I'll get up early tomorrow.
Sorry to hear about Robin Cook's death - another Scottish Labour politician dying on The Hill.
