war is such an ugly thing
destruction, terror, and pain
all the bad stuff wrapped up into one
including Death.

i know Death must be lonely
wherever he is in his realm,
all alone.
but that's no reason
to steal the ones we love
from us.
its not fair.
we want their company too!
the only good thing about it
is that we will, in the end,
see our beloveds again.

but war is an ugly thing.
the mistakes of men
their greed for money, power
-same thing, they think-
their aspirations to be king.
that will never happen.
why die
for a person you hardly know?
why die
for no reason but to kill?
why die
if not for love
if not to stop the bad guys
from killing, raping, beating
your women, children, and your friends
why die,
if not for good?
look at this land
the land belongs to no one
even no-man's-land
yes
the land is free
don't you envy it?
