Chapter 4
Lunar beams writhed through the gaps in the curtains, they shrouded the couple lying on the bed, both were smirking, one in the others arms, a very sweet picture. The girl rolled over and breathed in, she was next to someone incredibly warm, and incredibly familiar. Unknowingly she wrapped her arms around this stranger, placing one hand in his and the other resting comfortably on his chest. Briefly she stirred from her sleep, and looked him, it was Trai. She smiled slightly and crawled in further, he buried his head in her hair, groaned and settled once more. It was bliss.
Morning stuck, illuminating those deeps reds, making them look richer, brighter and more exotic. Selene was still sleeping heavily, her hair tousled, sheets wrapped tightly around her frame, dark eye's shut loosely flaring her long eyelashes. Trai had been up since first light, preparing, trying to recall what he had done yesterday, the fact he couldn't remember what he'd done since re encountering Asima, scared him. He never forgot. He rubbed his eyes and pushed back his hair, groaning in defeat, this was ridiculous, how could he not remember?
Pushing it to the back of his mind, he stood up and walked to Selene.
“Wake up sleepy head” He said softly as he shook her shoulder.
“Wha..?!What time is it?” She yawned, sitting up stretching out.
“Six thirty” He replied, sitting down on the bed.
“Oh, okay” She smiled “No night terrors” She joked heartily.
“That's good, Selene, can you remember what you did yesterday? I mean at all? Because I am at a total loss. I can't remember a thing” He asked shyly, not liking to admit that he forgot what events yesterday had pulled out for him.
She pondered for a minute or two, just sitting there, thinking. Eventually she replied with” Now that you mention it no, I went in the shower, came out in my towel, and then poof. I woke up here, fully dressed” She thought deciding to leave out the part where she woke when it was, thinking it unimportant.
He stood up, then slapped the bed resuming his rather cheery mood “Okay then, no need to get het up by it I guess it was just a side affect of the travelling. C'mon get up, Amelia will be here soon”.
Selene arose wriggling her toes as she sat on the edge of the bed. Stood up, all to quickly, her head feeling fuzzy and light for a few moments, just as she sauntered into the bathroom and towards the wash basin. Her head felt light and dizzy, she felt anguish and fear, but Selene tried her best not to harbour these feelings for long and continued with her hygienic chores.
Amelia was true to her words and arrived at 6.50 on the dot.
“Good morning” She addressed to Trai, bowing her head slightly. Selene reared her head, smiling sheepishly at Amelia. In her mind Amelia questing why she was in his room in the first, place. She had her own after all. Deciding it unworthy of investigation , she did not press the matter “Come” ,She smiled, “You must be hungry”.
During breakfast, and all throughout the day Selene and Trai found themselves under the watching and unnerving eyes of the twins. Even through the non hostile tasks of mingling and remedial chores. Constantly there. Constantly watching.
“I don't like it here” Trai admitted quietly at dinner, eyeing the twins evilly while stating this.
Selene, sighing despairingly at him “Well, I do, it's gorgeous, and almost everyone seems trustworthy. It's just cos were outsiders at the moment. We'll just have to engage in more conversation to see if we can find out anything”.
Trai grunted slightly, pushing away the bowl of rice that he assumed was going to blow up in his face “Anyway, how's the transforming coming along? Now that your well rested of course”.
She grinned toothily “ Fantastic. I was having some trouble at first but then,” she paused ,momentarily blushing “Caedence wandered over, and he kinda helped me out. By the time my session was over. My over all changing time was 5 minutes”.
Trai scowled slightly when he heard one of the twins names, but all in all he was so pleased with her progress, she was working really hard. Next was the advanced class, a little thing he liked to call mix and match. Mixing the different dragons parts to the human form to suit the situation. It took a lot of energy just spark a flame, or produce a tail or wings. Not to mention due to the anatomy conflict, (it seems humans and dragons were never meant to mate) the transformation was guaranteed to be painful. But total transformation was a big step for Selene, and Trai was very proud of her. She hadn't total transformed in well over a year, and to be honest, she had a good reason for it.
“Then tomorrow”, she continued, “Me, Amelia and Aquada are going to see if we can use our elements to manipulate each others. It is a great lesson, and great entertainment”. He nodded, giving the impression he was listening intently, he wasn't of course. He had his eyes on somewhere else, keeping a stern eye on those twins.
“There is one more thing”, she cleared her throat snapping him out of his concentration, “ I know you really don't like the twins your teamed up with Asima. There apparently, from what I've heard of Aquada, there is gonna be a new guy tomorrow, and they are with him. Anyway she what you can learn from her and vice versa, she needs a lot of help, this is her first time she has even seen a live dragon. So yeah, she needs the help”.
“You think?” He said bitterly.
She glared stonily at him, “Good night Trai” She snapped angrily before nosily leaving the table and stomping away.
He sat there blankly, thinking. Scratching his head, what had he said? During his deep thoughts Toem managed to slide next to him unnoticed and before Trai could question him, he slipped a letter underneath his hand that was idly resting on the oak table. As soon as he arrived, he disappeared, slithering away. His deep purple cloak fluttering adding to the serpentine effect.
Trai looked around suspiciously and left the food hall entering the dimly halls of the dojo. His human eyes would only en-able him to walk into walls let alone read this note, so with later painful repercussions he brought forth his dragon eyes and opened the note.
Meet me by the Sauna House, there is a situation at hand – Toem
keep your friends close, and your enemies closer, thought Trai as he tried to reason with himself into going to the Sauna. He wandered stealthily and cautiously, he had every reason to doubt this guy. He stepped towards every safe spot, as if he'd known the way, but in his own mind he knew that he simply couldn't. He'd never been there, he'd been the dojo all day, hadn't he? At the minute he was no longer sure that memories inside of his own head were his own.
“Your losing your touch” Stated Toem coolly, eye's closed lightly leaning against one of the support beams, “Mind you, the female often does affect the performance, which is why, personally, I stay well away from them”.
Trai frowned as he stepped forward. What was it this kook was rabbiting on about?
“What is it you want?” Snapped Trai, annoyed. He liked things in black and white.
Toem smirked slightly, and opened his eyes. Feisty. Exactly his type “Tomorrow Amelia is going to introduce this new guy” Yeah I already know this, thought Trai impatiently, “ earth clan, I think. He's bad news, well for you. You need to keep and eye out on you and your girl” ,it was hard spitting that word out, almost like vomiting, “, he really has a grudge on all fire clan and ayre, after the war and what happened. Amelia can take care of herself. But Selene, she's not exactly the strongest here, is she? I mean my brother, he understands her position. I'm just here to warn you, to help”.
Trai clenched his fists, he would not take insults. With amazing speed and strength he grasped onto the thin neck of Toem and slammed his body, with pain intended, against the beam he just leant against. Through the gagging, gasping and wincing Toem was laughing. Trai was assured this guy was completely loopy.
Trai opened up the dragon pores on his hand, allowing it to burst into flame. He clenched his fist and brought it within singeing distance of Toem's dark locks.
Snarling, Trai leant in dangerously close, “Unless you wanted a new haircut I suggest you take that back”.
Toem shivered, the malicious anger was such a turn on for him. He licked his lips and put on the cutesy yet dangerous tone, “ I'd seriously love too, but it's not being bitchy. It's the truth. Besides, she's just an obstacle. Your my goal”.
Trai stood back not knowing how to re-act. No one had ever lusted over him, especially not a guy, and to be honest, it creped him out. Repulsed him even. During Trai's panicked thought's Toem tried to steal a kiss. Trai's reflex's kicked in and threw the teen to the floor and ran in the opposite direction as fast as his legs would carry him. He was scared and confused. The academy don't have a protocol for this, he thought sarcastically. While he ran he unknowingly bumped into something. It was warm, alive, it was Toem. How the hell had he done that?
With his own supreme strength, Toem grasped onto Trai's frame and enveloped him. The serpentine cloak wrapped around them both in preparation.
Trai breathed heavily and squirmed as Toem's fingers tickled his back where they rested, “See, thing is”, Toem began, “ The innocent looking ones are the one's you need to look out for”.
While this uninteresting titbit Trai continued to squirm, realizing he had ran straight into the rock garden, his powers had no use here, unlike Toem, his powers could manipulate the rocks and the earth, amplifying his powers. This was most definitely planned, a trap and Trai fell right into it.
“What are you going to do with me?” Panicked Trai. His fear and alarm as unusual as the situation.
“What do all hormonal teens want to do?” He replied with a question, as lustily as possible to make it better for himself as he placed his lips against those of the rugged, quivering teen opposing him.
Sweat glided down his brow, he'd never been so afraid in his life. Not because he was in a hostile situation, not because he had been out-smarted and out-manoeuvred, not even because he'd let his guard down. It was because a large part of him was enjoying it, but it wished it was someone else, but them wrapped in his arm's. Kissing them because they wanted to not because they had to. He felt he was betraying himself and them. But he didn't want it to stop and that was the worst part. It brought pleasure throughout his whole being. He wasn't in his right mind. That moron must have tweaked him somehow. It wasn't his fault. It wasn't! Right? He needed to prove it. He needed to prove that he hadn't fallen for this creep. And there was only one way to find out. He needed to kiss her. And quickly. Toem moved in closer and pressed himself against Trai. Trai's shirt chaffed against the skin, making it sore, this guy was bounding with hormones. As lips locked once more with Trai's, Toem sent tendrils into his mind. He wanted more freedom, and it would be so much easier if he couldn't move, well couldn't run away at least. Trai went under and lost all knowing. “Oh you are a total virgin you know that?” He sighed in despair,” But I can change that in a heart beat”, he whispered while nibbling affectionately on his ear.
Trai felt himself fall to the ground and Toem straddle the on his thighs. He now wanted to cry. He became so upset and depressed by this. And he just couldn’t shake it. He wanted to stand up and beat this guy like a rag doll. But then a psychic wave passed through them and suddenly Toem just sort of fizzled away. Trai stood up dazed, he shook it off and ran back to the safety of the dojo. He needed to sleep, to think things through. He was too emotional at the minute. He knew he couldn't consult in Selene, she'd probably laugh. Who could he talk too?
Didn't matter, he decided. What mattered was sleeping. Yes that would be first priority.
