chapter 2

The very next morning was the day of Higurashi-san's funeral. Everyone in the village attended it. Kagome and her mother dreaded this day. Inuyasha stood next to Kagome and kept his arm wrappd round her shoulders, trying to keep her comfortable and calm.
During the ceremony, Sango kept glancing over at Kagome and her mother. She knew exactly how they felt. Just six months ago Sango had lost someone so dear to her. Her fiance. Sango was to be married at the age of 17. But since kyo kurarugi was murdered, she has to wait til her parents find another man that would be suitable enough for her to marry.
Once the funeral was finally over, Kagome, Sango and Ayame had decided to tell their parents that they were gonna spend the rest of their morning at the hotspring. The hotsrping they were headed to was located down a small hill ajacent to tsuzumi village adn right next to the forest which lead to many other villages in the northern mountains.
As the three girls arrived at the hotspring, they stripped down to their very own bakinis and stepped into the hot soothing water. Sitting down against the edge, Sango pinned her hair up into a bun to keep her hair from gettning wet. the other 2 girls did the same as well.
There was a silence among the them. Noone really said a word to one another. But then Kagome broke the silence with a sigh.
"Why did this have to happen?....why?.." Ayame and Sango both looked over at her. Tears had formed in the corners of her eyes once again. She loved her father dearly, and she just couldnt fathom living a life with just her mother and souta.
"We are very sorry Kagome...I wish there was something that we could to do to help..." Ayame told her sympathetically. A small smile came across her features.
"Just stay here with me and keep me company. Im glad ive got you guys here with me."
"No problem Kagome. ^^" Sango told her with a smile.
"Yo! Gilrs!" A male voice broke into teh girls' conversation. They all looked to the top of the hill and saw Inuyasha and Kouga standing there.
"KOuga and I are gonna be up here if you guys need enything. We are here to look after you three." Inuyasha explained.
"Arigatou Inuyasha!" Kagome called out to him.
"No problem" Inuyasha turned around and leaped into a tree and sat on a tree branch. Kouga just sat down beneath it.
At that very second, something across the way in the bushes and shrubs, something had cought Sango's eye. it was dark, yet she could see two light blue glowing eyes in almost a snear. Sango gulped knowing that it must be a rogue wolf.. Even though Sango is a tough, and strong willed girl, she feared the rogue wolfs. They were highly dangerous and powerful in strength.
Sango couldnt beleive she was wittnessing a rogue stare her and her friends down. Only the other 2 girls didnt notice him. They were already pre-occupied with talking about Kagome's father and other random topics. Sango was ignoring them for the momment. Keeping a cautious look into the wolfs dirrection, was what Sango continued with. Being wary of what this wolf may do. Except he just sat there watching the three girls. He watched them as if he was studying them, learning thier different actions in a way.
"Um..Sango." Kagome spoke up grabbing Sango's attention.. Her eyes blinked a few times as if to get a hold of realization. She turned her head to look at the 2 girls sitting next to her in teh hotspring.
" Oh, yes?"
"Wat are you starrign at?" Ayame finished for Kagome.
"Oh, um its nothign" Sango gave a fake smile that had actually convince the 2 girls a few times before.
"Well okay then." Kagome oddly agreed to the situation and decided to continue her conversation with Ayame. As did the two did so, Sango glanced back at the section in the bushes adn shrubs in which she witnissed that rogue wolf and his wicked glowing eyes. But he was gone. He was no longer there hiding in the bushes.
'Hm...he must have left...' Sango figured in her own thoughts.

"Goodnight Okaasan (mother), goodnight Otousan (father)" Sango called out from her bedrrom doorway as she stepped into it. Kirara, Sango's two-tailed neko, sliped easily passed Sango and ran into her room. Kirara jumped happily onto Sango's bed.
"Meow! ^-^" Kirara smiled swishing her tail back and forth. Sango smiled at her before she reached for the doors to her wardrobe cabinet. She untied the the sash on her green hakama, then folded the sash and set it in a small drawer in her wardrobe. Sango took teh green hakama off and set it into a shelf inside ontop of smallher drawers. She closed the doors on her closet and turned and looked at kirara. Sango gave a smile in Kirara's dirrection.
"Kirara, you are so cute..." Sango walked over to the left side of her bed and leaped onto it and layed on her stomach. She began to scratch Kirara behind the ears.
"Purrrr...." Kirara purred. To Kirara it was soothing to be petted behind the her big black ears. Kirara's purr was a high pitched kinda sound, yet her meow was more so.
"Hm..." Sango turned over onto her back and starred up at the ceiling. Kirara moved closer to her and decided to lay curled up next to her left arm.
"Kirara?" Sango turned her head to her pet laying next to her. Her ears perked upwords and she turned her head towords Sango.
"Meow?.."
"Kirara, even though it has been six months, is it still okay to miss kyo?" Sango asked her still laying on her back and looking at Kirara. Kirara starred at her owner for a momment adn then gave her a reasureing smile and meow.
"Meow! -^-^-" Sango smiled in responce, knowing her companion meant that i was still okay to care for a lost loved one.
"Kirara, i love you so much." Sango kissed the top of Kirara's forhead. "I dont know what i would do without you." She kissed her atop the head again. Kirara smiled and meowed happily.
"Well i think we should get some sleep, eh kirara? ^.^"
"Meow!"
Sango crawled up to her pillows near her headboard ans crawled under the covers. Kirara pranced her way onto Sango's chest as soon as she got comfortable. Sango's lips curled into a grin adn petted her atop the head once again, and turned onto her right side. She aloowed Kirara to lay with her under one arm . After a few minutes Sango drifted off into a deep comfortable sleep.

Sango has kept Kirara ever since she was a younge girl at the age of 9. One day as Sango was searching for Ayame and Kagome in a game of Hide and Seak through a small patch of forest, she came across something laying limp near the water's edge of a river.
"Hm...?" Sango veing the younge curious girl that she was, wanted to go forget about finding her friends. She wanted to find out what the limp body was so she cautiously stepped next to what it was. As soon as she did near the limp body, Sango kneeled down next to it and her mouth gaped open slightly at what she had discovered.
"Omg..." Sango's eyes had widened as she saw a small two-tailed kitten laying helpless at the river's edge. Sango felt terribly bad for this kitten.
Sango's eyes drifted all over her body and saw she had scratches all over her body and she was still wet from the cold water. This little kitten seemed to be real weak from all that she must have endured.
Just at that momment Sango noticed the cat perk its head up a little slowly. Her eyes opened very little and glanced up at Sango.
"Meow.......?" The tiny kitten gave a very small and weak meow. Sango looked down at the cat and smiled very sweetly. Careingly, Sango reached her arms down and gently picked up the small kitten and set her into her arms. Sango smiled again at the injured animal.
"C'mon, dont worry i will nurse u back to health. ^^" Sango told her. She stood up onto her feet not careing if she got her kimono a lil dirty, adn began to walk back through the small forest and to her home village. The tiny kitten gave Sango a small smile knowing that she was gonna be taken care fo adn nursed back to health.
Later that day, Once Sango's parents found out that their daughter had taken home an injured and sick animal, Sango asked if she coulc keep her.
"Plz....I will take care fo her, feed her, bathe her when she smells, oh! and did i mention i will take care of her?" Sango smiled up at both of her parents. She still had the lil kitten cuddled in her arms wrapped in a small blanket to keep her warm. Sango gave her parents a smile that showed them how happy she would be if they allowed her to keep her.
Both of her parents looked at eachother , exchanging glances and looked back at the cute lil 9 year old girl. SHe knew what they would tell her. It was simple to understand what they would say by just looking at their expressions.
Sango's mother looked at her and began to speak.
"Well Sango dear, if only you promice that you will do those things that u have mentioned then you are allowed to keep the kitten. ^^" Mrs.atsumi gave her daughter a pleasnt smile, just as did her father. Sango nearly screamed with joy once she knew that she would be able to keep the kitten.
"Yah!!! ^^ arigatou arigatou arigatou!!!" She screamed.
Her parents had to shush her a bit since the tiny kitty was still asleep in Sango's arms. Later on that day once the tiny two-tailed animal had awoken from her sleep Sango fed it and thought of a name for her. She decided on the name Kirara.
