So yesterday I ran yet another 5k. This is my third 5k this summer if your keeping track. Anyway, after the initial disappointment of realizing that loincloth man wasn’t there (he must only run 10ks) it was rather exhilarating. It was a local race, so nowhere near as large, but there were a lot more people in my age group than usual… or so it seemed. Anyway, it was super fun. I knew all the streets since it was at the nearby park.
This race, though I didn’t PR, was ran faster than most of the ones I do. I say this because both my mile and two-mile times were considerably quicker than my usual 5k. My mile time was 6:36 and my two-mile time was 14:39… which, if you remember from my track times, both of those would have been PRs at the beginning of track season.
Overall my time was 22:53, I got third place in the females 16-19 division. The prize thingy was a medal! I was so excited, though I would have gotten a trophy if I got first. The girl who I practice with took first, and I have no clue who took second. But I did beat this girl who used to be way faster than me during cross-country season. Her PR is still better than mine, but she got in the 24-somethings this race.
