Leon’s Return
I stepped into the arena for my battle and was immediately met by the familiar stale, bleak smell of a dreary wasteland that reminded me of my own fortress; the ground was black and lifeless, the sun blotted out by the gray clouds save for the small glimmer of light cresting over the mountains that lie behind a massive tower in which Sateb sat. Strange objects that looked like massive mandibles jutted forth from the ground and released a strange mist, tasting of agony and death. Suddenly the arena was replaced by a massive inferno and lying at my feet were the bodies of Leelyne Delinar and Shenrei Laramor; I knew that the creature Abomination had sent me into a nightmare. Nar’Zhul became engulfed in black flames as I mustered all of my strength and the power of every soul I had harvested in this tournament. I drove Nar’Zhul into the ground and screamed, “Enough of this!” The nightmare shattered along with my precious blade, and as the arena reappeared I saw the massive grey skinned, horned beast known as Abomination fly across the field from the shockwave of my spell and slam into one of the massive mandibles with a loud snap.
When I got back on my feet I noticed that my pale gray skin was tan, my claws had receded, my fangs were gone, and the demonic grip on my soul had faded. Human at last! Before I had time to celebrate, I felt the ground shaking as the massive Abomination charged forward. I leapt into the air above Abomination and began hurling disks of light at the creature; each one sliced through the beast’s thick hide with ease. As I landed gracefully on my feet I watched Abomination collapse on the ground spitting his acidic mucus at me; I quickly summoned a barrier of light and blocked the feeble attack. The beast let out a roar of anger as the arena began to fade yet again; I knew all to well what he was about to do to me.
“I will never go back there again you damned creature!” I shouted as I began to slowly float into the air. With my arms fully extended I felt the warmth from a tidal wave of blinding light that burst forth from my body and engulfed the whole arena; the dying screams of my opponent overpowering all else as he was sanctified to the point that his evil soul gave in and died. Now that I was victorious I summoned two blades of pure light into my hands and began making my way towards the tower in the distance. I ascended the great structure, and when I reached the top, swung my blades breaking the lock on the door; when my eyes met those of the startled white minotaur Sateb, I pointed my weapon at him and yelled, “You’re next; Arena Master!”
