- Background:
Ko`chan was born 1904 in St. Petersburg, Russia. At the age of seventeen she was granted the trip to Okinawa, Japan for a birthday surprise. She happened to notice a candy store just across the street. Did it have to be a day when she had such a terrible sweet tooth? She looked both ways along the street. Once and then twice. No cars were coming. She walked along the crosswalk, planning to head across the street to the candy store, but didn't make it quick enough. She felt a sharp pain at her side as she went flying halfway across the street. The car stopped at a sudden halt, the driver hurrying out to check on her. He had the palest of pale skin and the coldest touch. She was half awake and could easily feel her blood pouring out of her head. Why wasn't she dead just yet? She heard the man's faint voice. It felt smooth and calm. She could feel the touch of a seat under her body now, and then the speed of the car excelerating underneath her. From then on out, she only remembered the seering pain of fire all around her body for the last three days of her human existance. When she awoke from being unconcious for so long, the burning was ceased. She moved her hands along her face. Her skin was ice cold. She looked at her arm and it was just as pale as snow. She put her hand against her chest. There was no heartbeat! Was this hell? She looked around and noticed that it was a rather lovely place, so it couldn't have been hell. She stood from her place on a couch and found that she felt rather hungry. Not for the usual pizza or anything like that. Hungry for blood. Human blood. She opened her mouth and poked her fingers along her teeth. They felt a little different. She stopped her fingers against the sharpest two teeth in her mouth. Fangs? When did she grow those? She looked at herself in the black television screen and blinked. Her hair and eyes had been turned a cole black color. When did that happen?
``You are now a newborn vampire, of my creation.`` A voice came from a chair across the room. Ko`chan turned to look at the strange man.
``Who are you?``
``I am the man that hit you,`` he responded, sounding rather calm, ``I am also the one that made you..a vampire.``
``A vampire?`` she asked, rather confused and shocked.
``You must be hungry.`` He avoided the obvious question and crossed his arms.
``Yes. I am, actually,`` She informed. The man had the same pale color of skin as she did, and looked rather strong. His eyes were the color of gold, instead of black. His hair was the color of strawberry blonde. He looked amazingly beautiful.
``You are not to thirst on human blood.`` He demanded. Ko`chan raised an eyebrow at him.
``Human blood is what I want,`` she growled.
``What is your name, child?`` He asked.
``I think..it's..Ko.`` She had to think about that one for a minute. She didn't remember much of her past life, so it was hard for her.
``Nice to meet you. My name is Samuel. I'm here to train you to become the best newborn vampire. You are not to drink human blood, but bear, deer, and elk blood. Is that understood?``
And from there on out, she had tried her hardest to drink only animal's blood. Occasionally, she slipped and had just one human. But usually, it was an elderly human.
- The Human in the Mountains:
While hunting in the deep parts of the mountains, Ko`chan ran into a rather strange human. Her eyes were back to cole black, and she was obviously hungry for a human for a change. She had ggone several months now with out a single drop of human blood. She stared at the strange human, who seemed to have such a hold on her gaze. He was...a rather handsome human.
That day, she found her first love. It was a strange feeling, being a vampire in love, that is. It was odd to her and certainly odd to him. She planned on eating him. Sucking his blood completely dry. But, looking upon his beautiful human features, she just couldn't bring herself to.
She stayed the night in his cabin, spending the whole night telling him her story. How she died. What she remembered. How old she really was, [ 893 ]. She told him of her secret of being a vampire and threatened to kill him if he told anyone. Of course he agreed not to. Who would cross a vampire? She explained to him about how much strength she had. Superhuman, in fact. That she could never reproduce a baby. That she would always smell of strawberries. She also explained to him several times that she tried her best not to drink the blood of humans, but it still slipped every now and then. She told him how she never slept. Ever. She told him how she had no real heartbeat.
``I will never age from what I looked like when I died.``
She listened to his story.
His name was Teiji.
He lived in these mountains with two other demons.
But, that was all Ko`chan really managed to get from him. He seemed so much more interested in who she was. What she was, rather.
A love blossomed and formed for the two.
