Hee hee, sounds like the title of a book, doesn't it? Well, though this may be a long entry, it is, I assure you, not anywhere near novel length. So, onto the story! Katie, one of my best friends (and fellow Gaians), slept over last night (Thursday) since we had off from school on today, because of good ol' Veterans' Day. Actually, the plans were a bit short notice, seeing as I called her at about 7:30 Thursday night to ask if she wanted to sleep over, because...well, I don't want to get into it. Maybe another time. Anyway, moving on, we chatted on the phone a bit, waiting for her mom to come home so she could properly ask to sleep over. My dad and I went to pick her up at around 8 o'clock, or so, and the fun began! We sat in my bedroom, listening to music and talking about random things (family friends, RPs, school, etc. etc.), per usual for us. We can spend hours just sitting on my bed talking... But I digress. After a bit, we decided to go for a walk. It was dark, and, honestly, the shadows were kinda creepy, but we went out anyway, armed with a cellphone and a flashlight. We walked and talked (usually creeping ourselves or each other out with the scary-a** stuff that popped into our over-active imaginations), making it almost down to the "beachy place", a.k.a. Fred Shores Beach Club, a small bay beach at the end of the road I live on, a good dozen or so bloaks away from my house. Oh yes, lots of time to scared out of our minds by moving shadows, kids wandering like us, and random dog-walkers. Well, we returned to my house at about 9:15, or so, and went back to my room to (what else?) sit and chat! Oh, and scream out the window at random kids hanging out on my block, warning them that they were going to get runover. My dad ended that pretty quickly, though... Anyway, after awhile, my parents let us know they were heading off to bed, adn we decided to build...a tent! It was a simple affair, with a sleeping bag and some pillows on the floor to sleep on, the comforter off my bed on top of that, and the sheet off my bed as the roof. It was quite cozy, however, and we listened to music and talked some more, finally deciding to call the thing "Fort Knee-'im," after katie made some comment or another about kneeing Dr. House after he would say something stupid in one of our RP stories. But honestly, she said it in a really strange voice, that made it sound more like "Neeum," and thus, our fort/tent was named. And after a few more hours, we went went to sleep around half past midnight. We woke up this morning, however, around 7 o'clock, and sat around a bit, before deciding to make some renovations to the tent, seeing as it kept falling apart on us. (Ahh, did I forget to mention that? Well, things were falling on us all night...not fun. Actually, kinda freaky, honestly...) But anyway, we redid the tent, adding an extension with another blanket (with the words "Secret Girl Kisses" written on it...no, don't get any ideas!) and decorating the inside more. We added more pillows and stuffed animals, adorning the "walls" with silk scarves and putting my iPod inside to make an awesome hangout (that, unfortunately, we had to disassemble when my dad got home from work). Well, once that was done, we showered and dressed, and went out for a walk (yes, we like to walk), heading down to the beachy place to look at the water. Sadly, it was high tide, and we were unable to walk on the rocks we usually do, that, when walked over properly, can take you a few feet out and make some awesome tidepools. We couldn't even play "Dodge the Waves" either...*sigh* Anywho, we were down their about an hour, and when we got back to my house, we ate lunch (Hot Pockets...yum) and surfed the web a bit, finding new videos on YouTube. Then, we went back up to hang in our tent some more, and when my dad came home, we chilled a little more, then dissassembled Fort Knee-'im (a somber affair). After that, we escorted Katie home (around quarter to 5, or so) because I thought I was going to a friend's birthday party, which I turned out not to go to... Again, long story. But, all in all, an awesome, fun-filled, action-packed 20+ hours.
