Turns out our three mountain lions are a mom and two grown cubs. Teenage lions. No wonder they're being such a problem. The silly things don't know any better. Now my dad is saying that two of them were in our tree that night. Not just one. Probably the two cubs in the group.
Yesterday our neighbors across the street were shooting at them. We think they might have hit one. Or really scared it. One of them was making a crying sound, rather than screeching like they normally do. Like "mommy!!".
Of course, my dad decided to make sure they weren't on our property again, so he made me follow him around outside with a flashlight while he went to shoot at them if they came back. We spotted one pair of eyes and he shot at it. Turned out to be a raccoon. Of course.. at like two in the morning, one of the mountain lions was back in the front yard again.
-_-
They're beginning to be an annoyance. Silly teenagers. I'm actually kind of afraid now. We have two of them around that are too young and cocky to be afraid of people. And they're coming way too close to the house. I kind of worry about them too though. They're going to get their furry asses shot by either my dad or the neighbors, if they keep it up.
But I'm mostly worried about my cats. They could become lion snackums if this continues too much longer. But I think they realize what's going on by now. The both of them have been staying closer to the house the past few days. So that's good.
