xP why I bother to teach on my birthday I fail to understand myself. But I do, no less.
Okay, since it is my birthday, today will be short.
<3Greetings<3
Salut (Sah-Loo) -- casual...can be used as hello or goodbye
Bonjour (Bahn-jour [remember how the j is pronounced..]) -- formal..its like literally saying "greetings"
Je M`appelle _____ (Juh-Mah-Pell [pell like in pellet]) --my name is _____
Et Toi? (Eh-Twah) [and you?] - Casual
Et Vouz (Eh-Voo) [And you?] - Formal
ça va? (Sah-Vah) [How are you?] - Casual ( Like saying "What's up?" )
ça va. (Sah-Vah) [Fine/Okay] - Casual (Can be used to answer the question form)
Comment Alles-Vouz (sp?) (Koh-Men Tah-lay Voo) [How are you?] - Formal ( Like saying "How do you do?" )
Okay...so. I would greet somebody like a friend in this way.

ça va?
(Reply: ça va. Et toi?)

And I would greet somebody I don't know like this.
Bonjour! Je M`appelle Nathalie (my french name..Nah-Tah-Lē). Et Toi?
Reply: Bonjour. Je M`appelle David (&- using textbook name ^__^; In France, it's pronounced Dah-Veed). Comment Allez-Vous?
Très Bien (Very good...I'm unsure of the pronunciation though.), Merci (Thank you- Mihr-See). Et Vouz?
Reply: Comme ci, comme ca (so-so..come-see come-sah)...au revoir! (Ah-Rev-wah..goodbye)
Notice how the conversation is longer?
Okay, I know I retaught some things but repetition is the key to learning!
Though they say that repetition is stupidity...I wonder if that makes learning stupid? xD
