The Barroness, Lady Karuta Sungo, is known in the slave world for her cruel use of the whip and short weaponry and characterized by ice cold stares which look highly upon male lycan slaves. Though she is not powerful in neither financial nor physical attributes, she has made a name for herself almost solely on the fact she is a neko and once a slave of the late Baron Alfred von Metzger of Crystalia. It is almost impossible to ever meet a neko who is a Mistress. Those of the neko race are highly sought after as slaves. They tend to server various purposes. They make for blood dolls because their rich blood being sweeter than that of the humans. Under crueler conditions their high stamina and vitility make for good whipping posts (this being Karuta's main occupation as slave). Of course, their sensual physical features often lead them, more or less, to become chamber pets. Basically, nekos are known to be perfect slave material. It is almost impossible that she would've ever gotten to be a Mistress. Yet, somehow, she did. Cryswind, Karuta's mother, was one of the few left of the Menor Pack. When her mate died and she was left impregnanted, she left the small group to go out on her own. It was then she took up silent residence in the vast woodlands surrounding Crystalia. It was there Brethsin, now Karuta, was born. During the next few years she remained close to her mother, learning the ways of the old tradition and sacred values. However, as years faded away into amber dust, their presence became known. When word reached the ears of the Baron that a fully grown neko woman was spotted, he glanced upon the barren floor before the fireplace with intent of filling it. For the next week he sent his dogs in to track the den of the cat. In the hills of Crystalia, wild dogs are common so their scent would be no surprise. By that night when Cryswind came back with her child, the scent had faded and there was no need for any alarm. That night, as the two lay sleping the Baron came. Karuta had heard him, but thought nothing of it. She was only in the sixth year of her life and knew not to fear that which she does not know. When she went t olook, a gun close by fired. It shot her mother in the head. When the Baron saw that there was a younger neko there as well, he decided to keep her as his personal pet. For the first night she was still too far in shock to do anything but cry and sleep. During that time, Cryswind's body was restored and made into a fine rug before the hearth like a grotesque trophy. The following day, he changed Brethsin's name to Karuta Sungo. WHen he tried to collar her, though, she attacked him. It took two men to hold her writhing body down and chain her arms to her sides. They dragged her into the den and forced her to stare into the fake glass eyes of her mother's hide while they whipped her for the next hour until her back was covered in scars, welts, and blood. Ever since then she never attacked her Master again. She became his pet and served him the best she could. Still, he beat her when it pleased him, tortured her horribly with all the devices from the spiked collar that led the witches to the pyre to the electrical torture methods used in Vietnam. Though she never attacked him and she cried in pain to be forgiven, he never broke her spirit. The only thing which kept her alive was the burning hatred and anger which burned behind her eyes. This lasted for fourteen long years. Karuta, despite her torment, grew to be a wonderously curved and beautiful woman. The guests who came would stare in lust of her ever nude body, adorned by only her leather collar. When she was twenty, however, the Baron fell ill. In his weakened state, Karuta plotted her glorious revenge in which she would smother the Master with his own pillow. During the night she stole away to his chambers. Quietly, like in the Tell-Tale Heart, she entered upon his resting, stealing a pillow by which to commit her deed. Yet he was still, far too still. When she slipped from the bed and turned the light on near by, she saw him for nothing but a corpse. The scream she gave was forever mistaken as being a cry of a lost love and not for a lost revenge. Baron Alfred von Metzger was buried in the family cemetary behind the mansion. His will was read before the last of his family; his sister, his brother-in-law, his five nieces, and two nephews; as well as Karuta. To the horror of the family, everything was given to the neko. It was never known why he did it, perhaps he loved her. All that is known is that the bitter Karuta, from that day, went from slave to Baroness. In her first year of being head-of-the-house, she discharged all the slaves. All who remained were the butler and the maid. Yet the house and the business could not be managed like it is. So, leaving the maid in charge, she and the butler left to seek out slaves to whom she can place in her mansion.
