So since I am spending two weeks in New York with my grandparents, yesterday they were going to take me and my step-cousin, Jen, to see Niagara Falls. We drove for quite awhile and we went to the Canadian side of the Falls. I learned that the river the falls dumps into is actually a border between US and Canada. Me and Jen could literally say "I see America from here!" It was very cool to see the falls. No words could describe the beauty. Me and Jen then took a boat ride called the Maid of the Mist. In the boat it takes you right next to the falls and yes you get really wet. Thankfully they gave us raincoats to wear.
After sightseeing at the falls we went to the Hard Rock Cafe for lunch and outside the restaurant is a sidewalk with a bunch of stars with music celebrities on them. Sort of like a Hollywood thing. I took pics and a video of the whole walk.
We then went looking around Niagara city. I couldn't believe the museums and fun places they had. FIrst grandma bought me and Jen some sort of card things so we can go to see all these fun things. First off we went on this humongous ferris wheel. Of course, it was only us too. Grandma has a thing with Ferris Wheels. I swear our cabin was posessed. We were going up and our cabin sounded like someone was screaming. Although I knew it was the wind. I couldn't help but say that. Then random people were waving when we go back up. We knew they were waving at someone else but we were so random we just had to say to ourselves. "Look random strangers waving at us!"
We walked more up the street and I was recording everything we did on a camera thanks to my cell phone. Of course we pointed out random stuff. For example there was a burger king right next to a Frankenstein Castle haunted house. No joke there were haunted houses there open and it wasn't halloween. So there was a frankenstein model thingie on the roof but he was also holding a whopper. And I have seen the abridged Trinity Blood episodes so we can't help but make references like. "Will you buy me the paper crown?!" or "Don't make fun of Burger King!" Random stuff like that.
We then went to a museum called Ripley's Believe It Or Not. Its one of those musuems where they have an unbelieveable collection of weird and quirky things. Like worlds tallest man was 8 ft 11 1/2. And they had a mannequin of him. Jen being 5 ft 2 was saying things like "Now I feel really short." She even says that around me, being 6 ft. They also had weird things like weapons that the Spanish Inquisition used to torture and kill nn-Cathiolics. I, being Presbyterian, am standing there thinking "I'm glad I never lived that time." They also had one of those catwalks with a tunnel spinning around it. So when you walk down the steady caqtwalk, you feel like its moving. Me and Jen went back and forth on that thing and were even spinning around just for kicks. Have you ever seen those things that said try to grab a certain item but it turns out to be just an image? Jen tried to grab a jewel in this place. She stuck her arm farther into the hole than I did and a blast of air suddenely appeared and scared the crap out of her. SHe later got her revenge when a couple of wax figures were standing there and I thought they were real people trying to take a picture. I was waiting for them and then thought screw it and walked right in front of them when a camera flash went off on the plastic camera and scared the crap out of me.
After that we went to a wax museum called "Movieland". Mostly they were wax figures from movies. Out front of the place was the modern Joker played by Heath Ledger *RIP*. Along with Indiana Jones, Laura Croft *tomb raider*, and of course our favorite...Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom from Pirates of the Caribbean. We were such girls. The wax figures looked very realistic to us. Of course, Captian Jack was on a turntable so when his faced turn around to us we were saying stuff like "Hi Johnny!" We like Johnny Depp a lot. Not because of Pirates but also Sweeny Todd as well. Unfortunately that wasn't there. When we entered at first there were a bunch of actors I haven't heard of until we turn a corner and there were....Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. We took pics of them. I turned the corner and was like "Oh my god its the TMNT! I used to love that movie!" Then there was the older Batman and Joker. Hancock was there. Then Jen pointed out Terminator before I did. And I, with the camcorder, can't help but saw random stuff to every wax figure we saw. Superman's figure looked like it was coming out of the wall and when you looked at it we thought it was waving at us. There was a Happy Gilmore and Forest Gump. Forest Gump was on a bench with plexiglass in the middle so you can take a picture with him. So Jen sits next to it and intends to put herself on the plastic wall like she is trying to go through the wall and the wall moves on her, scaring the crap out of her. And I stand there, with the camcorder, laughing my head off. We turn a corner and there was Austin Powers and then there was Dr Dolittle. Down that hallway was also Garfield, and Jim Carrey in an Ace Ventura pose. One of my favorites was the amnitronic Jurassic Park dinosaur. I turn and look at it and I'm saying "Hell yes! Its my favorite dinosaur!" I love Jurassic Park. Right next to it was Rambo. And what we thought was an empty display when out of nowhere a croc appeared and scared us. Well me mostly cause I step back and then trip on a random rock behind me. Another favorite of mine was a collection of Star Wars figures. Me being a huge star wars geek, starting quoting the movie at each character. The characters were Darth Vader, Yoda, Chewbacca, Darth Maul, and Jar Jar Binks. Jen was screaming "Oh my God its Yoda!" Well because of her height she agrees with him and the "Size Matters Not" statement. Jen, being a huge Harry Potter fan, then saw Harry Potter on a broom during one of the quidditch scenes from the first movie. Right next to it was a bunch of people from Lord of the Rings. Shes pays no mind to them and keeps saying stuff like "OMG it's my boyfriend!" I stand there saying "I wouldn't be surprised if Edward Cullen from Twilight is here." Then she spots Dobby from the second Harry Potter movie. And she just had to pose next to it. Other figures such as Snow White and the Simpsons were there as well. Along with a collection of Music celebrities. Naturally the singer we both despire, Hannah Montana was there. We stood there making faces at it and making fun of it. Other music ones like Elvis, Madonna, and Shania Twain were there as well. Now the section I knew would come...the horror section. I have never really been into horror. Well except Dracula. We see a bunch of wax figures from a scary movie we were unfamiliar with and then we see Dracula. We walk down some more and Jen suddenly screams because a Frankenstein scared her. It was a Frankenstein who was on a moving table. I thought it was impressive and it just scared Jen because it suddenly moved when she walked past it. Then we reached the exit but the hallway was full of fog and there was an empty open door way right next to the exit. We run past it and it shoots a steam of air at us and scares us half to death. And when that happened we totally embarassed ourselves because the exit went right to the gift shop. So we run out of there screaming and there are people looking at us possibly thinking what the hell is wrong with them?
After the wax museum we go to the Midway which had a game called Ghost Blasters. It is a ride where you sit in a car with a gun and your supposed to shoot at ghost and stuff in a blacklight. Its like a game and a ride in one. We share a car and, naturally, I imitate Gunslinger from trinity blood. And I accurately shot the places you were supposed to. While Jen just shot at random places. Well the lady told us its not really a scary ride and nothing will come at you. She lied. When the car comes by certain things, they will move toward you. So we were screaming at everything that moved at us. When my side of the car reached some ghost way on the far side of a wall. It came clser to us. But it scared me more becuase it was on my side. Later on in the ride there was a wall/door thing with a bunch of creepy looking eyes in the blacklight. We go right in front of it and we saying "Its not so bad they are just eyes." When suddenly a flash scared the crap out of us. When the ride was over and went through the final door. We are sitting there in the car laughing so hard we were crying. Grandma and Grandpa took pictures of us laughing so hard and then I looked at the final score on our shooting. I beat Jen with a one-thousand, one hundred and something and she had a score in the three-hundreds.
After that we went to one of the FX Movign theatres. The one Jen and I saw was a reminisence of the movie Journey to the Center of the Earth. Since I am a little tall, my knee kept hitting some random metal bar on the back of someone's seat. I swear I could gotten a bruise. After we thought that would be the one thing we didn't scream at we were wrong. As soon as we exited the riding theatre there was a random jack in the box with a clown and flashing strobe lights. That freaks Jen out and I stand there laughing.
We then went to a putt putt golfing place. Nothing much memorable there except at the end where you are supposed to put your golf ball into the hole to show you are done. Me and Jen are doing some hilarious commentary while Grandpa is shooting the ball int he hole. All on camera are me and Jen talking about the video Cunningham Muffins from youtube. Well I think I should say more like mimicking.
After this trip I realized that we screamed at almost everything we did. Which was all on camera and so totally hilarious. We were also totally random and while we were doing something as simple as walking we were making random conversations. Typically making fun of some of the anime we were watching. We made jokes about Death Note, FMA, and Trinity Blood. And lots of times in the middle of a conversation we would randomly shout "Look its a dog!" because we like dogs. We were almost ADD even though we aren't really. This trip would be one I will never forget. heart heart
