"I'm gonna go pick up Oki. Anyone wanna come?" There stood a Caucasian teen boy standing 5' 7'' with short dirty blonde hair and pale blue eyes. He turned to an Asian teen boy that stood 5' 5'' but slouched. He had long black hair that you could easily put into pigtails. He wore an oversized black jacket. "Royce, wanna come?" said the Caucasian boy.
"Sure, why not?" Royce replied. Royce stood up and walked towards the Caucasian boy.
"Wait! Cody, can I come too?!" a girl sprang up from a cross-legged sitting position. This girl had dark skin and very dark brown hair that reached her waist even in its tied-back position. Her bangs flew about everywhere, which she shook her head to get it out of her face. Her piercing brown eyes stared at Cody yet waiting for an answer.
"Sure." Cody answered after pausing. He gave a funny look at her strange new attitude and eagerness. This girl reacted quickly by running over to Royce and latching onto his shoulders. They began walking to the door and Royce looked back at the girl then turned back forward and chuckled to himself.
"What?" The girl asked. Wondering what was this random chuckle was about.
"I know why you'd ever want to go in a car with Andrew driving at 10pm." he smiled.
The girl bit into Royce's shoulders. "AH! AH! AH! DAMMIT SARUKO! AH!" Royce yelled. He tried to lean out of the bite yet Saruko followed him and bit down harder. So he whacked in her head until she let go and chuckled sadistically herself. He gave her a look and turned back towards the door. Saruko re-attached herself to his back once again.
Saruko squeezed into the back of a white mustang, Royce following by pushing the seat back, climbed in and slammed the car door close. Cody opened the driver's door and climbed in then started the car. He took a few seconds putting on a good tune. When he finally did, they made their way out of the confusing roads.
The three finally reached the main road. A song came on that Saruko remembered hearing earlier on their way to the house they came from. Everyone but her knew the song. Therefore, Saruko listened to the song's lyrics.
"I couldn't resist to save my life. I dunno what this girl's after but she's a natural-- OH! Natural disaster..."
Saruko's eyes widened after that bit of the verse. Then thought to herself. So many people fell in love with me. Moreover, I went out with them... misleading them with my 'I love you's. I can't seem to help it. I'm a... A tear welled up and trailed down her face. The wind blowing from the windows blew her loose bangs over her face. Natural Disaster
Saruko caught herself and quickly wiped the tear away. Beginning to wish she could see Oki sooner, she went into endless fantasy of Oki. Well before she knew it, they were passing their high school. Saruko's heart missed a beat and a smile curled at the corners of her mouth.
There he is! They pulled into a garage and there was a dark-skinned teen boy standing nearly six feet and a thin muscular build. He had short brown hair that didn't budge in the wind. He walked backwards a couple steps then grabbed a duffle bag and headed to Saruko's side. She moved over and he threw his bag in and climbed into the car.
"Hey Oki! How was To Kill a Mocking Bird?" Saruko asked with leaking eagerness.
"It was pretty good. After, we had a potluck. And, oh my god! There was so much pie! So good!" He replied.
"Ooh! Pie sounds so good right now!" Royce bellowed in his hungry tone.
"Hah! We should get pumpkin pie for Saruko!" Cody laughed.
Royce slowly turned towards Cody. "Shut! Up!" Royce said in sharp tone.
"Ah! I can't find the seat belt thingy!" Saruko yelled in distress.
"You know, back seat don't need to use a seat belt when you're sixteen." Royce turned to inform Saruko.
"I-- Oh yeah I'm sixteen." Saruko said. A bit shameful that she forgot she had recently turned sixteen.
As they were driving, Cody made a sharp turn to grab some McDonalds. Saruko wasn't paying attention then flew with the momentum towards Oki. She was sprawled on Oki's lap with a confused look that quickly turned angry.
"CODY!" Saruko yelled. "Cops don't go easy on teenagers now days, idiot!" Saruko yelled in distress. She was blushing deeply as she got back up and slid over back to her side.
"Sheesh! Calm down, lady!" Cody said as he looked in his rear view mirror. Only then realizing Saruko's sudden back seat driver issues, he laughed.
They pull into McDonald's drive through picking out what to eat and bring back for the other's at the house. Oki asks for a sundae then falls over onto Saruko's shoulders. "I'm tired..." he yawned. “Hey, you're comfortable." he said. Then without a thought, Saruko rests her head onto his.
"Funny. Everyone says my shoulders are too bony and uncomfortable." Saruko replied.
"No, you're actually quite comfortable. To me anyway." Oki assured.
Saruko felt a hot feeling on her face then quickly brought her head off Oki's. I-I… That's weird. I wouldn't do this to a crush! And in a relationship, I usually get confused as to what I should do! Is this... Saruko was puzzled for the rest of the night.
That morning, Saruko woke up before everyone else. Saruko got up and tripped over Royce and Oki, grunting loudly which woke up Cody. Now he was awake, he moved from the couch. She took his place quickly and loomed over Oki.
He looks so cute when he's sleeping. I... I wanna stroke his hair. I want to. Yet I can't... because he isn't mine. He's not... mine. Saruko thought. Her face was soft with a mixture of emotions. Love and sadness.
Saruko got up and walked out onto the backyard lawn. She dropped down into a cross-leg sitting position, covered her face, and began to cry. Then pray. She prayed to forget about her painful love. She could not stand the fact that she could not have him. She felt so stupid for loving him. Saruko wanted to forget everything and start all over. Then she thought that she wants to hold her love for Oki... even though her memories were gone.
When she finished crying, she returned inside the house and fell asleep. She was exhausted from all her energy spent on crying and pleading to forget.
Saruko fell into a deep sleep. Some hours later, she was shook abruptly awake. A voice told her that they were going to leave for home. Therefore, she sat upwards and asked the fellow... "Who am I?"
Saruko lost her memory.
At first, Cody and Royce told her shut up and tell Oki good-bye. She began to cry because she felt abused verbally by people she did not know. Only then, everyone realized that Saruko had seriously lost her memory.
