There is a moment in time When you face your darkest of fears, However, sometimes there is no one there They are for what They are to help you stop the fear and pain When the fears build up And no one is there to save you What from From your own darkness What is left for some one? Who has no one? What happens when those fears Start to spread Begin to hurt And bring the nightmares To life Ripping you to pieces Until nothings left So my question is What do you do When your darkest of fears Become everyone else’s life
Tara Serene was the new girl at James Polk High School, a public school located on the tip of Main in a small town that barley held up to over 2,000 people. Her school was not like her old schools at all, this new school had something unique about and although Tara though ever school had something unique about these ones was easily found. The entrance of her new high school was a rusted old brown and slightly red tinted two way door entrance that was led up by mountains of stairs. Above the door of the school was an old building that had a look that somehow held many of old secret locked away in them. The building led up to a clock towering over the school and every so often something would sway and catch the light bouncing back and blinding Tara momentarily. Tara turned on the corner of Dread Rd. and Grant Drive to stop right in front of James Polk High School the worst place in the world. Today was not Tara’s first day at this school in fact in was more like her fifteenth day. Again, she would probably be ignored, like she was every day since she first arrived or picked. For some reason nobody seemed to like her. That was probably the answer to why Tara barley had any friend or more to say none at all because no one acknowledge her existence on this stupid earth no matter how much Tara had tried in her life in just was not enough for anybody. But she didn’t hate them, you might wonder why that is, it’s because Those people, the people who had made her life a living nightmare, who had shunned her and made her invisible had also, given her an independent streak, well in a way she called it her independent streak but it was probably more of a wanting to be herself and not turn out like other people had who had given their self’s up just to be like somebody else they did not like and only to get one thing, but it was that one thing that she did not understand why people would do this it was like giving-up their souls to monster that would control there every movement and emotion. However, not all bad things in the world have to be bad, as she has come to realize because thanks to the way she was forever more treated she discovered that she actually had very many talents that she never realized she had before then. So how can you ever be mad at the people that helped you find you greatest talents or hate someone who given you enough solitude that it allowed her to find greatness. Tara loved to draw this was probably one of the very few thing she could do so completely good and love it. Tara liked most of all to draw the people that picked on her and make them look the way they acted no mask to cover their hideous, monstrous faces. She knew thought that if anyone every got their hands on that sketchbook, well quit honestly she hoped they would not know it belonged to her. Anyways as Tara turned on the corner to the high school, she felt diminished by just the appearance she saw around that corner. There crowded into little flock circles were groups of all the different social status. But it was not that simple to explain you see ever since Tara was little there was never a group she fit into, not one at all they all dismissed her even as more social groups were introduced to her as she grow up, none of them would except her not one, she just did not belong. Tara took a deep breath hoping that somehow the intake of oxygen would help make her day so much easier but she knew it would not help. She knew nothing would stop this day from being like any other day she had to go through in her life up until now, but somehow she still hoped, she still believed that someone would accept her, with everything she is. Taking those steps into the school building was hard but she did it just like all the other days she had been here, as she walked onto the high school campus. Tara suddenly felt like a frozen hand had just pressed its self against her neck and continued to hold that cold hand there even after she realized it and shuddered, only wishing it would go away but to her demise that chilled hand never flinched not moving a single digit from her skin. Tara, not knowing what was really the best thing to do right at the moment decided to continue walking to her class. Now as she was walking, she began to notice that the hand was not the only thing wrong with today. There was something else but she just could not figure out what it was that was casing this feeling. It was the worst feeling ever like someone had done something and everyone know but her. Tara could do nothing to make that eerie feeling go away, so she decided to ignore it and continue with her day. She could only hope that the school day would be over soon and not drag out. Tara went to the front of the school were most the area was covered in grass and you had a clear view of the bell tower over the school’s big clock. Sitting there, Tara started to wonder why it seemed so quit she could not even hear the noise of the usual morning teens talking or birds chirping. Complete and total silence nothing more. Startled from her thoughts Tara heard the bell ring in the clock tower indicating that school was going to start and all students should head to their first period classes. Tara pushed her thoughts to the back of her mind as she got up and walked to her first class. The day went by slow, just as Tara had though and just like she had guessed her day was not as pleasant as she wished it could have been. During first period the teacher ignored her hand raised in the air, when nobody else knows the answer. Then during lunch after she had gotten her lunch tray and started her way to her seat at her table by herself a foot tripped her and the student began to laugh and throw there garbage at her as if she were their own personal trashcan. After lunch some kid though it would be funny to sick ‘kick me’ signs on her back and throw paper balls at her trying to score point for hitting the target, the target being her head. After school was the worse though as Tara arrive at her locked she found that someone had broken into the locked and pored water all over her stuff. While plaster on the outside of it was heat note in marker, pen, and paint all over, decorating every inch with their monstrous words. Now it was time for the trip home which was nicer then the day had been, but when she had arrived home Tara’s parents were already there. Tara’s parents, since she could remember were in love with each other but could care nothing for her so her life was one where she fended for herself. This worked for her because she does not like to be the spotlight of attention that was just how she grew up. Tara’s school life on the other hand was very abusive the teachers never saw her and the kids all of them hated her to the maximum extent. Opening the refrigerator door, looking for something to eat Tara was upset to find that the refrigerator had been cleaned out off all content of food. Tara could hear her parent arguing from there. “It’s you fault that we live in this crappy house” Mom screamed at dad who was standing in the doorway of there room. “You want to live better that get you a** off the ******** couch and get a damn job you lazy whore!” Dad, of course retaliated to mom. “What did you say you sick ********!” Mom was furious now you could tell she had jumped up and was yelling in dad’s face. “You heard me! Ever since you had that snot nosed brat my life became hell!” Dad yelled back at her yelling just as loud, and now dragging me into there fight. “She’s your daughter too, you know. It’s not like I got my self pregnant!” Mom told dad as if her were the dumbest male on the face of the earth. “Yeah, well I ******** don’t want here. She’s just a lazy brat!” Dad, of course he would bring that up some how her always found a way to make everything my fault. “And you think I do want her? Life was perfect before that accident was born!” Mom finished, the comment broken Tara’s heart like it always did whenever they fought with each other. Closing the door Tara grabbed a jacket and headed to the local market store. By then it was getting dark outside and Tara knew soon her parent would be hungry so she would have to hurry. After buying the groceries Tara walked out of the store and started on her trip home, but she never made it. As soon as she passed a darkened alleyway which way on the way home Tara was forcefully grabbed and painfully thrown into the ally but someone she could not see. After that every thing went blank for Tara. Nevertheless, she is found by a local store clerk who calls the cops to come get the body, the clerk being so simple-minded thought she was dead but thank god she was not because it was at this very moment that Tara was reborn. Tara, had nobody found her would have died but since she was found and on her way toward she hospital she had the slightest chance to survive even if it was very little. Tara could hear talking about something, no someone, she could not tell who but it was someone. She tried to open her eyes but they felt like they were sown closed and could never be opened again. Try as she might Tara couldn’t open her eyes she really wanted to because she could not remember what happen the last moment she remembered was walking, walking home, from school, yeah that was it, she was walking home but were was she now and what had happened to her? As much as she tried, Tara could not remember the slightest thing after leaving school and walking home it like every moment after then was a blear of smeared memories that she wished would come back. Her head suddenly pounded like it was trying to follow the beats of a drum, that seemed to grow louder and louder as Tara tried to regain to a conscious state. Exhaustion hit her full and with the beat of those drums Tara finally gave into the darkness behind her closed eyes. In a room completely filled with white from the ceiling to the floor, void of any signs that any person had visited laid a girl. Small and pale with dirty brown hair messed all over her pillow. A thin and tightly wrapped gaze was circling her head, and right above the girl’s eyebrow a small stain of rosy light red blood was seeping through, although not getting any dark, must mean it dried. The heart monitor and an IV were also attached to the girl. On the left side of her face a deep purple and blacking bruise was forming, from a punch she had taken that had knocked her out. Ever so slowly the girl began to move twisting her lags around in the sheets that kept her warm. A low rhythmic beeping, that’s all Tara could hear as she became conscious again. Eyes still closed, sore and sticky from being closed for so long, Tara kept thinking to herself the same question over and over again. ‘Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? WHY?!’ Tara’s thought’s had become enraged as the memory of what had happened to her came rushing back to her full-throated. Tara was overcome by emotions wondering why. Why her parents let this happen to her? Why her school hated her? Why was she the one hurt? Why was she the one everyone liked to pick on? Why did bad things always happen to her? And finally, why did nobody save me? Tara felt depressed and angry and although she didn’t really know which one took over, she knew she would make everyone pay for everything. Tara cracked open her weary eyes then shut them blinded by the light coming in from the sun from the window in her room. Her eyes fluttered again and opened painfully slowly. Tara grabbed her head as she sat up in the bed she was laying on and begin to look around. Immediately she knew it was a hospital and that something had happened but she had a hard time remembering exactly what was going on. As she sat up in the bed Tara slowly slide out from underneath the covers that were keeping her body warm. Her mind muffled with jumbled thoughts Tara could only think of one objective – school. Standing up Tara started to walk to the door of the room she was placed into and slide the door wide open allowing her access to the outside world. She made her way out the door of her room and into the hospital hallways and then into the front sitting room where the patients were waiting to see there doctors. For some reason nobody seemed to see her walking by or anything. She walked out the front of the hospital without any problems and when to the started walking to her school, which was all she could think about at the moment was school. Tara could see her school in the distance, and even after a long and usually tiresome walk , Tara form some reason was not tired she just wanted to get to school. The front doors of James Polk High School lurked not just a few steps away from her, and it seemed that none of the student had seemed to have seen her just like at the hospital. It didn’t matter at all she didn’t care she would still get her revenge. Entering the school Tara found herself in a sea of student, the ones who had tormented her and made her life at this school miserable, but only they where different then before. They were not pretty or built with muscles ripped all over their bodies or dressed in there altered school uniforms or even wearing that grin that meant to Tara that they were going to torturer you today. No they were all different, they had changed, they were monsters. The school was carded and infested with monsters of all kinds who didn’t seem to take notice to her entrance. Tara walked down the halls of her school shocked at what had happen not having the slightest clue what was going on. Tara saw the schools principal in the hall ways peeking out behind a classroom door, checking for a safe way. The principal obviously saw a safe path because soon she was running down the hall past Tara towards her office her blue high heels clicking ferociously against the hard wood floor. She could only run so fast for her professional skirt suit would not allow her to move as quickly as she had wished to be able to. She made it to her office, Tara followed behind her hopping for her insight on what had happen to the school and why everyone was so…so..so..monsterious, latterly. When the principal finally made it into the office she locked the door and pulled the blinds down so nobody could see her inside the office probably hopping she would be safe inside there. Well it just so happen she was not incognito when she made her mad dash to her office for Tommy Harris had seen her and has stalker rather happily after her. Tommy was more of a skater type of boy who it seemed no longer looked like the boy she had once seen before he had turned into a werewolf. He had a snout long with vicious razor sharp teeth glaring dangerously out of his mouth, as drool rolled down to the floor. His clothes had been ripped into shreds but the muscles and fur he had seemed to have grown and on his hands were claws bathed in blood, probably not his own. Tommy seemed keen getting the principal for when she had locked the door and pulled the blinds down Tommy when to the door and started howling and scratching like a rabid dog wanting his chew toy. Finally Tommy turned to the window when a shadow passed by it and he backed up and with a running start lunged at the window braking the glass into many tiny shards that shattered every where lodging themselves into Tommy’s werewolf like skin. With an entrance way Tommy gave a small howl and jumped into the room where the principal was hidden and from there everything else was hidden by the blinds of the room. Tara saw the splatters of blood hitting the blinds a dark red almost looked black painted the walls. Tara’s attention was diverted when she noticed someone who looked semi-normal, someone she knew quite well, Kevin Mitchell. Kevin was a typical jock with a very typically cheerleader girlfriend, Samantha Wendell, who it seemed was running away from Kevin. Samantha was very popular at the school a leader, who if she did it, you should do it if you don’t want to be known as an outcast. Samantha was very gorgeous she has long blond hair, which she claimed to be natural and baby blue eyes that seemed to be very complementary. And the thing that most guys liked most was that she still had her original nose. Kevin on the other hand was a stereotypical jock big muscles, thick headed, brown hair, brown eyes, and not to smart. Tara decided to fallow and find out what was going to happen and why Samantha was running away from her boyfriend and not to him. She found the up in the clock tower one of her favorite places in the whole school. “Kevin, please don’t do this” Samantha as tires were running down her face making her prefect face look less then perfect. “Now, now, Sammy, don’t look so sad. You always said you wished I was a little more…….darker” Kevin told Samantha calling her by her pet name as her walked closer and closer to her, making her back away. “Kevin I was only kidding, please you don’t want to do this” Samantha said still crying and panicking as she backed up more. “No I think I really do!” With that Kevin pushed Samantha back just as the pendulum swung back at her going right through her. Samantha was cut in 2 from the waist up her front and back half slide forward and back, as her corps still stood there, then fell over to the side, brains, well one half, slide from her head to Tara’s feet with sickening thunk and swish. Tara blinked then watched the pendulum that had just killed Samantha swing back and forth, swinging her blood everywhere and onto Tara. Coming out of her daze Tara walked down from the clock tower to the school halls to see things had calmed down quite a bit from when she had first entered to now. Walking down the halls heading to the front door Tara glanced back and forth at the bodies that were scattered all over the hallway, blood was splashed against the walls like it was nothing and everyone was dead. Tara knew she was alone, she knew that everyone had been killed and for some reason she didn’t care but as the shock of seeing the bodies and the smell of the decaying flesh from the student and the tick blood that floated in the air became to strong for her Tara knew she had to get away. It started as a walk, the a fast walk and before Tara knew it she was running full speed in her hospital gown cover in her fellow students blood, back to the hospital. Once at the hospital Tara could no longer hold her emotions in and throwing her self onto the hospital bed she pored all her tears out at once, everything had become too much for her to handle ‘No, No, No, NO! Why did this happen, When I said I wanted revenge I didn’t mean like this!’ Tara began bashing around in the bed holding her head in agony at everything she had saw and wishing she could feel sorry for them and upset at how they had all died. But she didn’t, not one bit, she loved every moment of everything she had seen and loved that they had finally been able to feel her pain and know how it feels to go through school everyday of your life with people always after you and trying to hurt you in some form. No, Tara was happy. Slowly Tara fell back to sleep with thoughts of her class mates deaths fresh in her mind and the smell of their blood. She knew it all had to be a dream, that’s all it was, a dream.
