Ok...it's been a while since I've touched my quill pen....so writing's a bit hard but I'll finish my story...I think you'd get the idea. I travel on and on until I reach the city. There- Now I'll write in better detail.
When I reached the iron-bared gates of the city I rather had the urge to turn and feel safer inside a tree or a bush. The buildings of blay and black looked ominous and reminded me of gravestones...only Bigger. I stepped right in front of the door to the city and tried to push one open. The damn thing wouldn't budge a single bit. A voice from no where bellowed and made me jump nearly out of my fur. "OI! GE' AWAY FROM THERE!!" I looked up to see a man stomping towards me. He looked at least 3 times my height. He wore a long trench coat covering most of his body only showing his huge leather skin boots. His hands in what looked like black whoolen gloves. He had a black beard turning grey as he got closer, he held up a lantern. My ears picked up the sound of chiming keys in his pockets. I thought if I didn't get past him with words I could with a little thievery...that'd never hurt would it? "What Ye be doin' in these parts cub?" He bent down halfway to my level of view which made somewhat irritated. Neither did I like being called cub...."I wanna enter the city" My voice trying to be firm and certain that I'd get my way. He blinked at me and laughed boomingly that I looked surprised. "That's som'in... And I suppose you think ye'r going to pull the iron bars to shreds if I don't let you?" Damn.....for a big bulky guy...he could tell my bluff...not that I was good at it in the first place. "I have no where else to head to sir. Let me in." The man blinked" Well unfortanutley....I can't" My eyes narrowed. "Why So?" I folded my arms, my curiosity seemed to stir at the way he spoke. The man seemed to shudder, "My master'll boot me out if ye don't have the ticket to get in....y'know what I mean right?" " "If I knew what you meant by 'ticket' I would've proven it and not still be on the other side of the gate right?" My fox tail swished. The idea of returning to the forest seemed to get better and better. The man looked at me dumbfoundedly. I took a deep breathe and spoke again, "Look I LITERALLY have no where else to go and I wish to enter the city. Now...you said I needed a ticket of some sort...How do I obtain one?" The man nodded, "Ya head North here and you'll find a town without a gate that you'd be more welcome at than this one...there you'll have to fight for a ticket. My master is keeper of the city and only those with the tickets can enter, he sends tickets to town here and about, but not enough for all....Aye! People have Died for a ticket" My back shuddered at the though of death...and over a measily ticket......I gathered my thoughts....Well at least if I were to die, it would be for something for myself rather than for 'others'. I clenched my teeth and looked up at the man, "I'll be back...With the Ticket." I turne, "Count on it." The man didn't laugh this time and seemed to stand and watch me 'till I had lost sight of him and him of me.
