Jules woke up to her alarm clock buzzing. With her eyes closed, Jules smacked it, turning it off, and rolled over, curling up into a warm body.
Wait…Jules thought…that’s not right…
Jules opened her eyes and looked up into Phoenix’s smiling face.
“I know that the Princess isn’t going to skip school today,” he said with a grin.
Jules almost let out a scream of surprise, but Phoenix covered her mouth.
“Jeez, Jules, is my face really that scary?” he asked as he slowly uncovered her mouth.
“What the hell are you doing in my bed?!?!” Jules hissed.
Phoenix’s grin widened, “Well, technically I’m not IN your bed; I’m ON your bed. Secondly, you’re just so adorable when you sleep! You talk in your sleep. Did you know that?”
Jules felt her face grow hot.
“Get out!” she ordered.
Phoenix chuckled and pulled Jules closer.
“Aw! But I was so comfortable! You were cuddling with me and you even said my name!”
Jules’s eyes grew wide and she blushed even more.
“What?!?! No I didn’t!” she exclaimed as she tried to push him away.
“You know, if you DO want to skip school, we can just lay here all day; just you and me.”
“I think not,” Jules replied as she was finally able to push away from Phoenix and scrambled out of bed, “Now get out of my room so I can get dressed.”
Phoenix propped his head up with his hand and looked at her.
“Oh, I don’t mind. You can get changed in front of me,” he said with a hopeful grin.
“Out! Now!” Jules almost shouted.
“Sheesh, okay, okay,” Phoenix slowly got off the bed.
Jules watched him as he walked towards her open window, then turned around, leaning against the window ledge.
“You know, if you change your mind…”
With a quick few steps, Jules pushed Phoenix out the window, closed, and locked it. Turning around, she grabbed her school uniform and walked down the hallway to the bathroom, locking the door behind her as an extra precaution.
The nerve of him! Jules thought angrily as she got ready for the day.
