Driving to the park is so easy! Seriously, why did it take this long for my mom to let me go that far?
Getting my mom to walk the entire trail at the park rather than just a quarter of it... not so easy. D: It's three or four miles long. We just walked that much at McCallister the other day, and McCallister isn't paved, so it's harder. If we could do that, then we could easily walk all of JF Gregory.
We also went to Cannery Road again, and of COURSE, I had a deer run out in front of the car. XD Good news is, I knew he was there long before that, and knew he was going to do it, and stopped the car just before he did.
But my driving practice there was cut short by the car acting up. It's been doing so ever since my dad "fixed" it. It makes weird noises, and spontaniously DIES if you don't get rolling fast enough after starting it. D:
~~~~~~
And the other day my mom said something about wanting to get a dog. I was more sand than happy. I would LOVE to get a dog, because in my entire live I've never actually had one, but it'll probably never happen.
The last dog we had, a German Shepherd puppy, my dad threatened to shoot when he found out we got it. A PUPPY! The only dog I'd ever had in my life, and we had to give him up in just under a week. I might as well have been babysitting him.
D;
My dad only likes his cats. At the same time, he prefers animals who listen to what he says. Cats? Listening? I don't know where he got that idea.
I know he tries to "train" Kilala all the time, make her listen to him and such, but like with any other cat, it's like trying to lick your elbow. It just doesn't work.
But I spent a few hours looking at local shelter dogs anyway. I found quite a few that seemed promising, including another shepherd/husky mix, an australian shepherd, a border collie, and an adorable shepherd/lab mix.
It's probably never going to happen, though. But a girl can dream, right?
And in more news... after literally years of considering it, I'm finally trying the pescatarian (veg. with the exception of fish) thing out.
The first time I brought it up was years ago, and my dad yelled at me for it. D: Since my cooking was limited back then, and I live in a household where there's a strict "eat what you get or go hungry" policy, I couldn't really fight back.
But now, I can cook my own food, so I'm going to go for it. To heck with what he says. I don't even think he cares now. XD
Is it because I think eating animals is cruel? No, because even though I am a serious animal lover, animals eating animals is a way of life. Whether we like it or not, we're all part of that thing called the food web.
Is it for health purposes? Sort of, even though you can be healthy or not, regardless of what you eat.
No, it's just because I've pretty much lost my taste for meat. We just eat it too much in my family, and I just don't like it anymore. The only meat I still like other than seafood is chicken and turkey.
Pork, ham, etc. left my diet a LONG time ago. I just can't stand it. Beef is following right behind it. =o
So anyway, I'm going to try the pescatarian diet out for a while, and see how I like it. X3
