Since I could no longer be around my father, Zuko let me sleep in the palace last night. I woke up this morning, only to find my best friend giving me bad news. He was leaving the Fire Nation for a long time. He wouldn't tell me how long or where he was going, though. As he started to walk away, I stopped him and gave him a parting gift he would hopefully never forget. I know I shouldn't have done it, but at that moment, my heart had controlled me. I still can't believe I kissed him on his lips. I felt so happy after I did it, but that happiness didn't last. He did not return the kiss, but instead, just said "Thank you", and walked away. It seemed the same as the beach kiss. He sees me as his best friend, and only as his best friend. Zuko doesn't love me. Must I repeat my actions from the day of the eclipse? Do I have to run away again in order to escape this pain? My heart can't take being alone anymore.
