Oh my God, Squish almost became a doggie snack the other day. 0_o
My neighbor's crazy dog, I've told you about him, is already known for killing cats. Well, he was in my back yard Monday morning, after Squish.
Thankfully, Squish got away in one piece. Either he's secretly a genius, or that dog is REALLY stupid. This is pretty much how the scenario went...
I heard barking outside that sounded really close, so out of curiosity, I opened my blinds. There's that damn dog, standing in the middle of my back yard, barking. I look behind him, and there's Squish, stalking low to the ground against the back fence. Squish pretty much walked right by Mako, and that dog didn't see him. I mean, our grass is really short. Squish was far from being invisible.
Anyway, Mako didn't notice him until Squish got to the gate, and actually stood up. When he spotted him, he chased after him. Squish ran into the bushes behind our house. Mako.... face planted into them. It looked like it hurt. I hope it did. XD
I could just see Squish on the other side of those bushes like "ha ha, you SUCK! Go ahead, try and fit your fat head through these bushes! I'll pop your nose off!"
The way Squish pulled off this escape, it was just so strategic. Not something I usually see out of the cat who can't properly sneak up on a bird.
For the rest of the day, Squish was sitting in the back yard like he was king of the lawn. It was great. I'm so proud of him, totally outwitting that dog like he did.
I still feel kind of bad that I coldn't do more than watch it happen. If it were any other dog, I would have chased it's butt out of the yard. But this is Mako, who I have seen go after people before. 0_o
Once again, his owners need to learn to control him, or get rid of him. That dog is dangerous. Squish is safe, Mako left before I had to go catch the bus, so nothing happened to me... I can't say the same for my friend's little dog, Winston, who had to go get stiches yesterday for the fourth time because of Mako.
We're not even sure now if the neighbors caught their damn dog. We haven't heard him barking like we normally do. Maybe he ran off this time. Or maybe someone else called animal control on him. Oh well, we're not going to miss him here. >_>
