Trying to decide
What is really right
Stuck in a place
I can never truly escape.
Should I do what’s
Right for him
By hiding what I don’t feel
Or should I do what’s
Right for me
By telling him I have to leave
Knowing it will hurt him more than me.
I fight my mind to find my answers
Only finding one
But how can I say that
My heart seeks out another.
Tears of self-hatred
Flow from my eyes
Thinking to myself why
Yet the answer was always there
Trying to tell me to say no
As the pressure from those around
Caused the lie to slip
Leading me to a place
I’ve never been
Forcing me to say
I just wanna be friends.
