Avast! Check out the new pirate character, matey! *~* Name: Esme Sparrow (originally Murdock)
Title: Captain of the Bird of Paradise
Age: 20 Appearance: dark hair and ocean blue eyes; usually wears black fishnet stockings and finrgerless gloves, a ragged skirt to her knees, a peasant-style blouse, and a leather jacket covered in Native American heiroglyphs (a gift from a tribe she spent time with when in America), plus her treasured pirate's hat, a present from Jack Sparrow himself to her mother (brown leather with a bright blue feather); about 5'9" and thin
The Story Thus Far: Esme's mother, Katherine Harrington, moved to the Carribean colonies when she was 7 with her parents and four siblings. At 19, she was forced to marry an old doctor, Edward Murdock, who was nearly 25 years her senior. They weren't in love, though they became good friends and respected each others' privacy and freedom (he was actually madly in love with a woman his own age, who was of a lower class and thus forbidden, so they carried on an affair in secret for years before and after his second marriage to Katherine). It was during this time Katherine met a struggling young pirate named Jack Sparrow. A year later, she had a three-month old daughter and no husband, after the sickly Edward passed away. And, there was no doubt Esme was not his child, but Jack's. So, Katherine fled her hometown and her overbearing parents (who called for her to remarry) for Martinique (a French colony at the time, and thus, easier to escape to and simply disappear on), where she lived in a small town in a mansion with her daughter and a few servants under the name Kate Sparrow. When Esme was 16, her mother told her the truth of her origins. The girl, who had always loved and felt at home on ships, sailed to London for a time (where she performed in a few plays on the famous West End), then spent some time in the newly-independent United States and later, South America. Esme is clairvoyant, and tends to use her abilities to seek the greatest plunder. Her weapons include two swords and a good pistol she bought herself in England. She recently returned to the Caribbean, as captain of her own ship, to find her father.

The Crew: Angelito Buenaventura, first mate, originally of Venezuela; Esme's best friend and a master swordsman
Amity Karston, Esme's oldest friend; formerly a maid in the Sparrow mansion, given leave to accompany Esme on her travels
Russom Darby, an eleven-year-old orphan Esme discovered wandering London's infamous Fleet Street; now a cabin boy on the ship, who will do virtually any task asked of him
