    It's hard to write about loving
    When I've been broken for so long
    The pieces of my heart have shattered
    From every time I was so wrong

    Every sin I've committed
    Has left its bitter scar
    All the people I've hated
    Only know me from afar

    They don't know the real, true me
    They judge me on what they want to hear
    No one will ever love me for who I am
    They'll just watch my heart shards disappear

    Most people can't handle my troubled past
    They all run away in fear with regret
    Never looking back on a lonely face
    I'm someone they'll always want to forget

    Some say they won't hurt me
    I believe them, for some reason
    Every time I try loving someone
    They're all found guilty of treason

    Against my broken heart, that is
    But the penalty's not near death
    Another broken heart for me
    That always leaves me out of breath

    Tell me how to write about love
    When I'm still so ripped apart
    So many pieces don't fit
    I'll never fix my broken heart (alone)
