-
Cold arms caress me,
And vacant eyes surround me.
A once-warm breath is chilled,
And it's beating heart has stilled.
My lover lies in a narrow house,
And there the door is closed.
But still, visions come like whispers,
And the dreams are sweeter still.
I dream of when he held me,
And stroked my tears away.
I dream of his lips on mine,
And his tender, quiet way.
I recall the times he told me,
When we were left to our own,
That he'd be mine forever,
And I would never be alone.
He haunts me in his own way,
His face lingers by my door.
And in the shadows, I still see him,
Just as he looked before.
Again; I dream, and he is mine again,
The softness of his smile,
And the warmth of his grin,
But now he's gone and with him,
My laughter's gone from here.
When I sleep; I miss his warmth,
And when I wake; I see his face.
Every curve and every wrinkle,
Which marked the life we've lived our way.
My heart beats, but slowly it beats now,
My body is rooted on this earth,
And my soul is kept within my chest,
But my heart, as always, is for him.
And I know that we will meet again,
As surely lovers do.
Until then, I'll find my way,
Now that my love has died.

- Title: Lover Lost
- Artist: WitchAlchemist
- Description: Love defies all death and separation, it is the ultimate bridge between the longest divide. The poem speaks of a lover who has died, and the loyal lover who remains. I don't follow a specific scheme, it's purely for enjoyment of writing. Enjoy~
