Can you really give a name to a feeling
so fleeting,
so insubstantial?
Can you really understand all the meanings
of these feelings?
So circumstantial.
But nonetheless I never knew
What it feels like to be through
with a part of my life I've been pushing away
all this weakness and strife, oh I wish I could stay.
But the world is changing around me
The things I thought I once knew
Never cease to astound me
My blurry vision askew.
Can you really give a name to a feeling
so fleeting,
so insubstantial?
Can you really understand all the meanings
of these feelings?
So circumstantial.
But nonetheless I never knew
what it feels like to be through
with a part of my life I've been pushing away
all this weakness and strife, oh I wish I could stay.
But I can't go back on decisions
Promises I would change.
There's chaos, my mind's a collision
and I can't seem to arrange
These words into names for a feeling
so fleeting
so insubstantial.
This painful wound is still healing
from those feelings,
so circumstantial...
And if I ever got the chance
To change the outcome, then perchance...
I'll find a name for this feeling...
So fleeting...
So insubstantial.
The words are slowly revealing...
the ceiling...
of this cage.
And if I should happen to find the key...
I still might not want to be free.
But at least, maybe, I'll find
me.
