A girl was found by a bush
With her head battered in, her skirt removed
And her eyeballs scooped out.
The only clue was a word written on her face
With a black marker pen.
It said Green.
The only word was green.
The mother weeped when she found out the news
Declared the event a nightmare come true
I'd dreamt it happen a couple months before
Look, now my poor baby's gone.
She was green you know,
Naive, didn't know a thing.
But she was a good child, never went round the bend.
Who'd want to kill poor Seline?
Maybe the murder was a crime of passion?
Lets rule out a suicide, homicide maybe?
Or first degree murder?
Do you think it was a kid at school?
Never.
How about an old man you knew?
Could be.
We'll need to do more investigations.
What, more? This has been going on for two years.
Two bloody years. Find the person who did it.
Things like this can take twenty years to solve
Or could remain a mystery. Calm down now.
Don't want you to blow.
A girl was found by a bush
With her head battered in, her skirt removed
And her eyeballs scooped out.
The only clue was a word written on her face
With a black marker pen.
It said Green.
The woman had dreamt it up all along.
She'd never had a daughter, never will have.
She'd been crazy for so long, that her whole life had
Been a lie. It had been green.

- Hey guys, I am thirteen years old. Love to write fiction and reviews, this is my first attempt at complex poetry. In 2008, out of the 2000 and something people I got highly commended in the Costa Book Awards (used to be Whitbread Awards). I am also British and my fave colours are black, silver and red.
