• The Red Room

    Your face
    Your voice
    They blur together
    I can’t tell the difference.

    In the Red Room
    The Flowers bloom
    They never end
    They never go.

They grow where your point touches
    The red roses
    The red lotus
    The pretty flowers…

    Let me go
    Let me stay
    I want to leave
    I want to stay.

    Let me die
    Keep me alive
    I want to go
    Let me stay HERE.

    Mr. Dog eats too much
His favorite is the red circle…
    It rolls down your hill
    Of red, wet rectangles.

Mr. Dog likes to climb the pile
He gets all wet when he does.
    He looks all red.
    Like the flowers.

    The flowers bloom
    On the window
    On the door
    Let me out

    Its terrifying
    Its wonderful
    Its Wonder Land
    Its bad.

    I’m the unlucky one.
    You won’t let me die
You won’t let me be food for Mr. Dog
    Why is it like this?

    When I came here
    I had ten toes.
    I had two ears.
    I had two eyes.

    You took my toes.
And then gave them to Mary.
    Now Mary is lucky.
    She has twenty.

    Mr. Dog
    I saw him once.
    He can stand up
    On two legs.

    I saw him once.
    He looked like I did.
    Like a human.
    The circles are his favorites.

    From the outside
    You can’t see.
    Its impossible to see.
    You can’t.

    The red flowers.
    Your saws and knives
    The screaming.
    You can’t.

    I wonder everyday
How it felt to be human.
How it felt to have two eyes
And how it felt to have ten toes.

    You can’t hear it.
    You can’t see it.
    You don’t know it.
    You can’t know it.

    You aren’t here.
    You aren’t there
    You can’t come.
    You are helpless

    You don’t know
    You don’t know
    You don’t know
    You don’t know

    You don’t know
    You don’t know
    You don’t know
    You don’t know

    You don’t know
    You don’t know
    You don’t know
    You don’t
