I had a dream of you.
Very long ago.
Dressed in a winter coat,
lying in the snow.

I had a dream of you.
And I wish I never did.
Because it was a nightmare,
and I am not a kid.

I had a dream of you.
Running in the rain.
You smiled at me warmly,
that only caused me pain.

I had a dream of you.
Where you left me.
And even though I know it's true,
I pretended not to see.

I had a dream of you.
That lasted forever.
I remember wishing it would end,
knowing that it would never.

I had a dream of you.
That seemed too real.
Because it was,
and I would never heal.
