When the night falls and all has become silent,
I sit underneath the vast night sky, alone.
I close my eyes, let the wind take me elsewhere,
To escape the fate I am to live through.
She was just a little, blossoming pre-teen,
Her path still foggy and unclear.
Her mommy and dad had been taken away
And all there was left...
I wish for a truly happy family, my family.
For every tear shed comes an ounce of joy.
There would be enough love to go around,
And fill up the empty spaces of sorrow.
That one little girl, along with her story,
Inspired many to restore their own hope.
Her mommy and dad were liberated,
And received many heartfelt donations.
I wish, underneath the vast night sky,
For a surrounding love to hold and cherish.
I wish there would be no more pain,
No more hurtful lies, no more death.
After the night was carried away,
A blanket of snow covered her.
Christmas had dawned upon this world,
But had taken away the little weeping child.
Her story has been etched onto paper,
And told to many grandchildren.
On the harshest of nights, we will all remember
A wish is what pulled us through.
