I'll Miss You Forever

• Description: I wrote this early last year, totally out of the blue. A couple months later my grandpa died. My mom thought I should say this at his funeral but I'm not one to read emotional texts in front of others.
  Its a bit random, but that was the feeling I was going for.
  This poem’s for all those who have lost someone. Whether it was through death, a breakup, changing schools, or moving abroad, this is for all those who got left behind

I always thought you’d be right here.
Right by my side,
I thought we had time.
I never thought I’d feel this way.
I never thought that
You could leave me someday.
When you slipped away
I couldn’t face each new day.
I was hurting,
Calling out to you.

But you’re gone,
There’s nothing I can say to change that.
Time has run out,
If only I had known before you left.
And now I am all alone at home
And nothing’s ever gonna be
The same.
I’ll miss you.
Forever,
My friend.
