The switchbacks of sorrow are both balm and bane.
The shock of sharp grief and deep burning pain.
A painful fog over the heart and mind.
A vice-like coil that just won't unwind.
An empty feeling, that sense of loss.
The world clouding over with grey-toned gloss.
And reminded sorrow will invite pain to flare.
Suppressed emotions bleed, rubbed raw by despair.
But comfort can come when friends share your grief.
Hearts love and fond memories bring warmth and relief.
Given time and comfort what little does remain.
Can be washed away by love's soothing rain.

- Title: One Left Behind
- Artist: Corgan of the Seven Winds
- Description: A times I find myself with an odd pairing of words. These grow into a sentence that nags me until I see it wishes to grow. Sometimes they come to me in minutes, yet others take a week or more before I find out what flower blooms from the seed I found before. I hope you can feel what I did as I wrote this poem.
