-
Felt like a widow,
with tears in her eyes,
spending her days in shadow.
Repeating the same old lies.
Looked like a queen,
in the beggar's tattered robes.
standing so forlorn between,
the lively river and the grassy slopes.
Sounded like an actress,
saying her goodbyes.
"I must confess:
Now it's hard to improvise..."
Stood there in the middle of the crowd,
waiting for the tears to come.
You looked at me, I was so loud,
and yet I felt so numb.
But I just had to tell you now, before I burst . . .
