A ripple frozen on winter's open
no snow on the ground, so she walks around
two buttons broken and hoping
for something to warm her hands
He can still smell her on the collar of his coat
no kiss goodbye just tooth to throat
four knuckles bone white for warmth
and in his arms, her heart beats fond
