I thought it would be alright

It's a new school year
I walked in, not seeing you
You weren't there this time

No one seemed to care
You got over me quickly,
replaced me swiftly

Luckily I too
made a new friend soon after
The pain had left me

Not for too long though
I couldn't stop seeing you
wherever I turned

It's still like that now
Everything reminds me
of you, long gone friend

Until I despair
That's how much you torture me
That's not the worst part
