Swimming in a sea of dark
I can't let the light into my heart.
My brakes are dead, I can't park
I won't let the light into my heart.
Lost in fog, nowhere to go
I shouldn't let the light into my heart.
My oar is broken, I can't row
I wouldn't let the light into my heart.
Even if I tried
Even if I cried
Even if I lied
I couldn't let the light into my heart.
Trying to survive, aching to get by
I haven't let the light into my heart.
Waiting for an end, waiting to dye
I long to let the light into my heart.
Taking pills, drinking alone,
I will never let the light into my heart.
My eyes going dull, my skin losing tone,
I'd die for the light to come into my heart.
Even if I tried
Even if I cried
Even if I lied
I wouldn't let the light into my heart.
Breaking bones, turning my emotions into stone
Smiling face, cold, cold soul
Desprately reaching, never reaching
The light just can't enter my heart.

Description:
Just something I wrote on the spur of the moment concerning my real father...
I haven't seen him in 14 years, but now he wants to be a part of my life again. I can't decide if the light is good or bad. - Date: 07/27/2008
