Most of the researchers here often ask me, "What do you think will happen if you wore Aztec's mask?" I do have an answer so much so that I'm not quite sure if they'll bare to understand.
Everyone who've worked a couple of months or so, would know who Aztec is and what his existence is to the world, they'll even know what he possess. Though I've known him for a long, long time. Well not often would you get the chance to live throughout history by going back in time, although I was given that opportunity and learned much about human condition and mentality. The human mind was always a great inquiry for me, but the spirituality of humanity is nothing but mere fuel for Aztec, fed throughout the ages even before man learned how to wield a bladed object. You could say he was the first cannibal to feast of a fellow man who was "bad". In Aztec's terms, the man he feasted on committed a crime worthy of a death sentence, because feeding on those who dwell on acts against their fellow humans; monsters.
His name is vague and blurred, even he couldn't remember his real name, but everyone here at the [file corrupt] calls him Aztec, the last civilization that gave him his immortality, or rather cursed him for eternity. Aztec's action is indeed heinous although his acts was only an idea, past down through generations, an idea that feasting upon the flesh of evil is an act of cleansing the world, although sometime at the peak of it all. Corruption took place, giving the meaning of cannibalism, whether good or evil, human ate human. Until that was put to an end, thanks to the Aztec people in my knowledge. Although Aztec wasn't amongst those who'd eat anyone because he still held true with his cause, his brethren just lost their path.
But in the end, he was still considered a cannibal even to the Gods themselves.
Aztec was the mask itself, it's wearer feasted on the flesh of evil, past on throughout it's existence to those with a sense of what is right and what is "Evil". A mask that's said to have the ability to feast on the demon within; exorcising them in general, to save the pure soul.
Well that's kinda confusing for me though, but, he could be exaggerating, or boasting.
Still the mask does have a conscience, but it's not a single individual though, a "spiritual collective" comes to mind.
Me however, I am a single individual who's mind can dig into others, I'm no psychic or a powerful telepathic, I just know how to mend minds; thanks to time travel. Well anything with a conscience is mendable, but Aztec is one exception due to what he is. So if I were to put him on... I'd feel blood and rage, unbound rage in my part, the smell of darkened blood in the small scratches, the feeling of countless individuals who've eaten others, the feeling of those evil men/women being slaughtered and eaten. My mind would mend with Aztec's, twisting our very existence into one filled with blood and rage.
The Berserker Concept, an end game to any world that's too difficult and all the more vicious to ours; it'll also be the end for me and Aztec, a sacrificial tactic that we're glad is a theory. I wouldn't even think of using such thing against an enemy who's as strong as Superman and want nothing more than to see the world suffer for it's existence.
Aztec is both my friend, even though his history is that of a cannibalistic vigilante. And right now, he helps our troops against corrupt supernatural creatures and beings.
I just help sew patches within one's conscience or to help them better understand themselves or to talk to and get it out of their system. I'm glad to be a voluntary shrink and I'm sure Aztec is enjoying rehab.
