Ok before we get started let me tell you this. Every single line in this story is true, the only way for me to be heard is to publish this as fiction. Now that I got that out in the open lets start introductions. My name is, or I should say was, John Samuel Knight. I was 15 when my entire life was changed for better or worse. It all started about more or less 100,000 years ago.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"John, have you finished your project yet?" I hear Snow, my best friend, call from down stairs. Her high, angelic voice breaking my concentration. "Not yet. Maybe if you helped every now and then we'd be done by now. My dear science partner." I let the sarcasm ooze out of my voice on the last part. Snow pokes her head into my room, where I have been holed up for three days putting the finishing touches on our science project, and with a sweetly, innocent smile on her face she says," Come on you know I suck at all that electro-gizmo junk your so obsessed with." She was right, of course, I was better at this kind of stuff. Snow was the artistic one of our team. I, with my I.Q. of over 200, was the brains. The project I was working on was a sheet of metal able to convert solar energy into electricity without a solar panel. I was almost done I just had to hook up my old watch to it. I had a bet with Snow for 50 bucks that it would work. She giggled in that cute way that always got under my skin when she saw me concentating so intently on the two little wires. She gently pulled me away from the table I was working at and sat in my lap.
Ok before you say anything, yes we are dating. I asked her out about a week ago and she said yes. Snow isn't like other girls. She has light brown hair and one of those faces that looks great without makeup, but when she put it on just right she was drop dead gorgeous. Her clothes were a cross between skater and emo. We made an odd couple, having suffered the gossip of all our class mates, about how I really was an alien from mars and she was my chosen bride. We both laughed at these stories. We've been friends for years, not really sure why, but we are.
I sat there looking up at her, making a play annoyed face. " Come on," I start to say, " We need to finish the project or we'll flunk the class." Once I finish she pouts a little and says, "You flunk a class. Thats about as likely as you fulfilling you dream of time travel." She smiles down at me, I wrap my arms around her and kiss her cheek. "You'll see," I say stubornly, "Some day I will do it, and I'll take you where ever you like." She smiles and kisses me on the lips. I hold her praying for this never to end, but Snow pulls away slowly saying, "And I will love every moment of it." She gets up and winks at me as she leaves the room. I sigh heavily, " She really knows how to make an exit," I say to myself, but then I hear someone say, " Yeah, thats what we loved about her." I jump up and spin around. I find myself looking in a mirror, which is odd considering I don't have one in my room. I look at myself and he says, "Hello, I come from your distant future, or was it your long past, hard to keep track really." It's about now when I faint.
