• tab The submersible sank further and further down into the depths. In the depths of the Atlantic ocean the Machina corporation thought they had finally found ruins that could be Atlantis. It would take another hour to reach the bottom and get a true glimpse of the ruins, the water was very murky the team of three researchers were crammed into the Submersible. There was Tonya who thought this was all a wild goose chase, she was here because it would look good on paper to have been in a research team exploring the bottom of the ocean. There was Tom the pilot who was uneasy, the sub had never been quite this far down before. Finally there was Jacobi who when hearing about the expedition jumped at the chance, Jacobi had a great love for Greek mythology and was very excited about the prospects of finding such a famous site.
    tab Jacobi talked to Tom to calm him, Jacobi told the story of the Nymph Echo and how the Goddess Hera had cursed Echo for delaying her. Jacobi then told of the parallels between Dionysus with Christ as well as Mithras and Christ. None of this really calmed Tom down though. Neither Tom nor Tonya were offended by the suggestion that the story of Christ was an un original one, neither one of them being Christian. Tom had always believed in luck more then god and Tonya was a plain atheist , Jacobi him self was an agnostic who occasionally prayed to the Greek gods of old saying that at least the Greeks admitted that the gods where some times jerks and not completely all powerful.
    tab The sub even with its climate control was beginning to grow cold there was no light out side the sub with the exception of the subs own lighting sources. the sub jerked a moment Jacobi looked at the sensors, something big was outside in the water, it hadn't shown up on the sensors at all until just then. Tom carefully tried to guide the sub away from what ever had just banged into them. a loud ominous moan could be heard from the sound box that had been recording the depths.
    tab "Bless us Poseidon and protect us." Jacobi prayed to himself.
    tab Just then a giant eye appeared in front of the glass shield in the front of the sub.
    tab "A Kraken" Jacobi proclaimed, Tonya rolled her eyes but even she had never heard of a Giant Squid this large before. The monstrous squid was obviously curious about the sub and poked at it until it got bored, finally swimming away. A little more banter between Tom and Jacobi, Jacobi telling Tom all about the Kraken and legends of Giant Squid that had passed down the generations. things calmed down until the sub started sinking rabidly. Tom tried to pilot the sub through the water slower but it was like something was pulling them and the squid was far away now. Sub finally landed with a hunk on ground, the team looked out the sub and found that there was no water outside for about ten miles in any direction, the tech equipment confirmed this. Jacobi with out alerting the other opened the top of the sub, when the other realized what he was doing they panicked saying it wasn't safe. But Jacobi was determined to find out more about this amazing discovery, a self contained bubble of air in the depths of the ocean. Finally after some coxing the other two left the sub and wondered out into the terrain. the three of them could see a building about a mile from where they were. Jacobi was sure this was Atlantis, Tom thought it was possibly aliens, and Tonya thought she must have hit her head on something when they hit the squid.
    tab The Three entered in a Greek Parthenon with carving of heroes and monsters littering the walls, strange writing that none of them recognized lay on tablets all around them. there in the center of the building was something they all recognized. a undetonated Nuclear war head. The three of them discussed how this could be possible, Tom fervent in his stance on aliens. Tonya blew him off saying that was ridicules, Jacobi told the other two how the Atlantines where recorded as being technologically advanced but this was ridicules. There would be more proof if there had been a modern area civilization in ancient times. the three of them heard a strange noise from outside. When they looked outside the ocean seamed to be closing in on them. The team rushed back to the sub and got inside just in time. As Tom piloted the sub up from the depths Tonya noticed something, all the data on their location from when they had been on the bottom of sea floor wasn't there, the computers hadn't recorded any of it. the chances of finding the exact same spot again where astronomical. Jacobi chuckled and thanked the gods for letting the team see Atlantis and Living to tell the tall, even if no one would believe them.
