I like to dance.
It's hypnotic- twirl, twist, shake your hips and repeat. The beat enters your head and moves your body for you, and you lose yourself. It's so easy to lose track of time that it seems like the world is standing still, and all that exists are you, the dance floor, and the music that twines around your soul.
I don't like to dance.
They stare when I do. Stare and stare and stare till I feel like I'm being stripped of my flesh and they can see all that makes me, my soul, who I am. It hurts me, and I want to run, to hide until it stops hurting. They whisper, too. You'd think on an exhuberant dance floor I wouldn't be able to hear anything, but somehow I can hear them. They whisper little lies, rumors, and evil seeps from their lips to poison me.
I like to dance. I don't.
Sometimes, it's all I can do to just go to that dance.

Description:
Their poison hurts me, even if I don't hear it. I can see it in their faces, in the way they act around me.
Sometimes, it's all I can do to even go there. - Date: 01/26/2010
