• He sat on the edge of the cliff gazing at the vast oceanic view his own feelings threatening to break the barrier that held them. What am I going to do? He wonders to himself his ears twitch as the leaves behind him rustle. “Damien?” says a female voice that was like a drug to him “Emma..” he sighs her familiar scent wafting over him like a wonderful perfume a comfort to his senses. She moves towards him cautiously “Damien...Where have you been all this time?” she asks her voice barely above a whisper.
    He sighs looking up at the sky at the full moon chewing on his cheek deep in thought and closes his eyes. His golden red markings that cover his body pulse with emotion and he turns to look at her, memorizing her once familiar face “I've been...” he sighs again trying to think of the right words “I've been hiding...” He shifts uncomfortably unable to admit everything.
    Emma looks at him her eyes full of hurt and curiosity “Hiding?” she asks “hiding from what Damien?”
    “you...” a violent shudder goes through his body
    “Why me?” she tilts her head “what did I do?”
    Damien Shakes his head and goes back to looking at the moon “You did nothing...It's something I did...” Damien closes his eyes a low whimper emitting low in his throat and he closes his eyes again. “I'm sorry about your brother...It's my fault he's dead...I...” he hesitates “I killed him...”
    Emma gasps covering her mouth tears welling in her eyes “no...”
    Damien nods ashamed “yes...I'm sorry...he was going to take you away from me...I...I didn't want to lose you so soon”
    Emma steps away feeling sick to her stomach “Damien...h...how could you...He...he was the only family I had other than Kiri and you...but...you're a half demon...It could never happen.”
    Damien's head lowers in shame “I know Emma...I know it could never happen...but...I keep falling in love...with vampires...”
    Emma looks at him her red tinted eyes watering “Y...you mean...” Damien nods with a shiver “yes...I...” he shakes his head and goes back to looking over the cliff the ocean “I have...feelings for you Emma...I cannot tell you..how hard it is to resist you...I know your true mate is on his way...but...it hurts so much knowing I'm going to lose you...” His markings glowing brighter as the sun sets setting the blue ocean and the sky aflame. “Damien...” Begins Emma “If it hurts...why no-”
    “Because I can't!” Damien shouts “Emma! I'm a Vampire hunter for spirit's sake! And not only that but what if...what if you get pregnant? The child will KILL you and I'll be forced to abandon it!” Damien crosses his arms his emotional barrier close to breaking as tears slide down his face “I'm going to lose you...and there's nothing I can do...maybe I'm not allowed to be happy maybe the spirits enjoy tormenting me...”
    Emma frowns and moves hugging him “no...They want you to be happy...I know it! And so do I...” Emma sighs tears falling onto his bare chest as she nuzzles into him. “Damien, I don't care if you killed Darren...I just want to be with you...and just you...I don't want my 'true mate' I want you”
    Damien hugs Emma protectively and lowers his head so he can speak quietly into her ear “and I want you...but you and I both know...it'd get us both killed...I love you dearly Emma..and I'm willing to let you go...”
    Emma shakes her head and tightens her hold on him “no...I don't want you to let me go! I want to stay with you!” Damien looks Emma in the eyes and leans down gently kissing her and pulls away still looking her in the eyes and sighs “Emma...please don't do this to me...I don't want you to leave but it's for the best...” Emma looks at him defiantly and pulls herself up using his shoulders and kisses him almost desperately, and presses into him “Damien...” Damien growls low in his throat and kisses her again and they remain that way until someone clears their throat making Damien pull away and Look at the new comer “kid. What do you want?” he growls
    “It's time for Emma to go...her mate is here” Sighs kid ignoring Emma
    “No! Not yet it's too soon! I...I can't lose her!”
