I take all of the responsibility for the accident. Well, not all of the responsibility, just most of it, maybe all of it. It happened like this:
We were just coming back from our first performance in front of teenagers, and we rocked! If i do say myself.
I had gotten stuck with the newbie. She wanted to tag along with us to know what to do for her own band, her parents had paid all of the fees, and they offered us more money than we could spend so we had to say yes. Anyway, it was a game we played. Whoever got stuck with the newbie, had to buy the others a soda, and I had gotten stuck with her this time, and i was dreading the mall.
I was just sitting there listening to my i-pod when i saw something completely out of the normal. I saw our small school funded bus, and it was zooming down the snow covered street. Then all of a sudden it started to slide, and swerve. Finally it was stopped. By a brick wall. The scariest part was: It was right where i was sitting that hit the brick wall head on. Then i saw the back of the driver's head again.
I was sweaty, and shaky, but otherwise okay.
I turned to the newbie, i never bothered to learn her name, and asked her to switch seats with me. She looked at me like i was insane to give up the window seat, but she was obviously carsick, and she agreed.
I knew i could move if that actually happened, but i was still nervous.
About five minutes we started to spin and swerve. Everyone was screaming, and, to tell the truth, so was I.
Then there was a huge BOOM! and i jumped away, and landed on someone. I lifted my head, and saw my friends standing above me. i stood, and we all hugged. There were sirens, and soon cops and an ambulance arrived.
* * * * * * * * * * * * *
That day everyone was hurt, and there were only two deaths that day. The newbie, whose name is..........was Jennifer, and the bus driver. I felt so sorry for her parents, but i couldn't talk about what i saw that day. They would think I'm crazy!
"Bay?" asked Liza, one of the band members as well as one of my best friends.
"Yeah?"
"Gimme a hug." she demanded tears leaked out of her eyes.
I hurled myself into her arms, and bawled. "It's my fault!" I wailed. "I could have grabbed her when I jumped, but i didn't!"
Jennifer's parents came were in the waiting room as i sobbed. "We don't blame you." her dad whispered.
I turned around. "I-I-I-I'm sor-r-ry." i stuttered.
"It's okay sweetie." said her mom.
I knew that the disaster that ruined my life wasn't the end of it. My life was just about over.
