• Miyu woke up from her ‘dream’. She was back in her real body now and suddenly, it was morning. Sometimes when she awakens from night, she escapes the ghost-body-real-world thing and has a full blank episode of nothing till sun breaks loose in the sky.
“Anything new?” the family maid stood beside the bed, holding a tray of food. She smiled as Miyu looked up at her. “Good morning, milady” her voice was sweet, just like all the others. The tray was set down on a table before the maid left the room.
Miyu glanced at the food then got up and walked towards the window. The sky was a clear blue, almost noon. Birds flew in flocks and people already flooded the streets. Kids played in fields and around the fountain. Whatever was happening outside, Miyu didn’t care. What she wondered about was the thief from last night. Her hand went to touch her cheek that his palm rested on. Who was he? Who was he? The question kept repeating in her mind.
“Hun” Miyu’s mom opened the door and noticed the uneaten breakfast lying on the table. “What happened last night? Are you alright?”
    No reply.
“Dear, it’s okay. Whatever happened, you can tell me. If it’s something you want then I’ll get it for you. No matter what” she didn’t expect Miyu to answer her because Miyu hasn’t spoken ever since her first ‘dream’ which was when she was six. That’s why she always wrote what she wanted to say. Her mom waited for a few seconds, understanding her daughters reply. “Okay, I’ll be going then” as she turns to leave, Miyu speaks.
    “B…bo—boy”
That one stutter was enough to shock her mom. “Yes, a boy? Did he do something to you? What’s his name?”
What do I tell her? I…don’t know who he is. She shakes her head and looks down—a gesture her mom knows well.
“Okay. If you need me, I’ll be upstairs” she wanted to stay more, to talk with Miyu, but that’s not possible at this moment. She left the room and went back to hers.

“You damn kid!” they all shouted as they pursuit Haru. The man from last night did what he said he’d do—bring reinforcements. And what he brought was all the towns’ people that got their stuff stolen.
“s**t, s**t!” Haru hissed, out of breath. Any second now and they’d catch him. There was a log blocking his path so he tried to hop it, but fell face first to the dirt ground. “That’s the good outdoors…” he groans as he gets up and continues running. Got to find a place to hide, I have to find a place to hide.
“KID!” the victim shouts. “Wait till I get my hands on you! You’ll be begging for forgiveness! And guess what? I won’t be giving it to you! Not after you stole my jewel”
“Like I said, it’s your fault it got stolen!” Right in front of Haru was a gigantic boulder, but what caught his eye was underneath it. A hole. And it’s big enough for me to fit through! He leaps forward and dives into the hole. This was a moment to cheer for victory and he almost did, till he got stuck halfway down the hole. “Oh crud, oh crud! I didn’t gain weight, did I?” he reaches his arm out and tries pulling himself in but it doesn’t work. What’s worse is that he felt the vibration as the towns’ people came closer. If there’s no room for me, then I’ll just make some! He tenses his muscles and elbows the side of the dirt wall. Pieces broke off—a lot of pieces broke off, because the dirt floor under him crumbled and fell downward into darkness. The escape route ended up being an underground cave and who knows how deep it is.
“He’s trying to escape!” a woman yells, pointing towards the boulder.
Bad idea, really bad idea. Haru was falling down deep into the hole, his screams echoed. There was a loud crash and then nothing.
Everyone gave uneasy looks to one another. “You think he’s alright?”
“Why should he be?” a man replies. “You heard that, right? That kid’s a dead man”
