I was a bit stunned for a second. This is officially the strangest day of my life, period. I thought. I almost smiled. I could tell this was going to be an interesting year.
"So..... What's up?" Hiroyuki said. It scared me a little, because I had forgotten I was on the phone.
"Nothing much.... Just bored." I said, trying to be 'cool'. I could tell he was smiling on the other side of the phone.
"Bored, really?" he said, a tone of amusement in his voice.
"Yeah," I said. "How about you?"
"Ruu-chan! Are you on that phone?" I heard my mom scream from the kitchen.
"Yes mom!" I yelled back.
"Ruu-chan?" I heard a voice on the other line that wasn't Hiroyuki's or his brother.
"Err.... Yeah. Who is this?" I asked, confused.
"You don't know?" the voice said, in a mock sad voice.
"No, I don't." I replied.
"Well if you must know, I'm your boyfriend's best friend, Takumi."
"Boyfriend?" I yelled, confused. I could hear Hiroyuki say the same thing in the background.
"Sorry, Rumi." Hiroyuki had the phone now. "Takumi can be a bit of an idiot sometimes."
Rumi? I thought. I guess it's better than Ruu-chan. I laughed.
"So, since Hiro's a chicken....." Takumi had regained control of the phone. I heard a faint, 'Shut up!' in the background. "Hiro wants to know if you would go to dinner with him tonight."
I was shocked, but I wasn't about to refuse.
"Sure." I said, calmly. Takumi was silent for a moment. I heard a thud, so I assumed Takumi had dropped the phone.
"Hello?" I said. Hiroyuki picked up the phone.
"Look, it's okay if you don't want to-"He said.
"I said yes." I interupted. I heard a thud for the second time. I heard a louder thud a little later. Takumi picked up the phone.
"Are you sure?" He asked, in disbelief.
"Yes." I said, calmer still.
"Err, well, he'll pick you up at 7, mkay?" he said.
"Sure. Can I bring Aoi? Then it can be like a double date, I mean, if you come with us-" I said, losing my cool.
"Yeah. Bring her." Takumi said.
"Okay! See you!" I said, strangely overjoyed. Hiroyuki regained possesion of his phone.
"See you at 7." he said, shakily.
"See you." I replied. I hung up and looked over at the clock. It said 6:00. 6:00? I thought. I have to call Aoi! I picked up my phone. Aoi picked up on the first ring.
"Hello?" she said.
"You. Me. Hiroyuki. Takumi. A restaurant. 7 o'clock. Get ready, like, now." I said. She figured out what I meant almost immediately.
"Are you serious?" she said, surprised. "Wait, how does he know where you live?"
"That's a good question." I said, realizing the absurdity of it all.
"Anyway, see you in about 20 minutes."
I put on my favorite pair of black skinny jeans, a purple minidress, and my old Converse. "Wait." I thought aloud. "Why do I feel happy that Hiro asked me out? Why did I just say Hiro? Good Lord." I put a purple bow in my hair to match my dress. I began to walk towards the kitchen.
"Ahem!" My mom said. I had forgotten the kitchen floor was tatami.
"Sorry." I said, taking off my shoes. "Mom, do you know Hiroyuki Ishikawa?" A grin graced her face.
"Yes I do! Father is Takahashi-sama, right?"
"I think so..." I said. She said so much so fast I didn't get a word of it. The doorbell rang. I checked the time on my phone. It was only 6:20, so it must be Aoi. I thought. I opened the door, and Aoi was there.
"Ruu, you look amazing!" she exclaimed. I didn't think I looked all that great, but Aoi's Aoi. I personally thought Aoi looked better. She had a black pencil skirt and a white shirt that hung off her shoulder. Her mom let her wear make-up outside of school, so she also had expert looking make-up.
"No, Aoi, you look amazing." I said. We had forty minutes to kill, so we roamed my house.
"So how did he do it?" Aoi asked.
"How did who do what?" I asked, confused.
"How did Hiroyuki ask you out?" She said, giving me a look that screamed 'duh'. "Did he use his sexy voice?"
"Sexy voice?" I asked.
"All guys have a sexy voice, Ruu."
"What is that?" I asked. Before she could reply, I remembered I hadn't told my mother that I had a date with Hiroyuki. I raced to her room.
"Mom! Mom! Momomomomomomoom!" I yelled.
"What is it?" She said, yawning.
"I've got a date tonight and that's why Aoi's here!" I screamed.
"With who?" She said, waking up.
"Hiroyuki." I said, almost out of breath.
"Mmmkay." She said. "Just don't stay out too late."
"Thanks mom!" I said before darting off. I ran to the kitchen, and to my surprise I found Hiro and Takumi sitting in my kitchen with Aoi. I stood there for a minute, mouth agape.
"Why....? Did you....? Nevermind." I said.
Hiroyuki smiled a sly smile. "Well then." he said. "Let's go."

- Ignorance is making you emo? If you mean the lack of comments a lot of people just don't bother reading things, they usually just come here for art, it's seriously nothing personal, the majority of people just prefer the art to the writing. As for your story, I honestly don't have time to read it as I am currently being shouted at to hurry up and get my a** downstairs but I'm sure it's really good and I'll rate 5/5 just cuz I feel slightly bad that I can't read it.
