The ocean air created droplets of water on her bare legs and face. Strands of raven hair were being tossed around in the breeze of saltwater. Sky-blue eyes were glowering down off the edge of the cliff near the small rocky beach. She shoved her hands into her hoodie pockets and mumbled.
She looked down the cliff edge, her sky-blue eyes wandering. She gave a huff of determination and carefully descended down the rocky cliff side to the small rocky beach. Each step was perfectly planted on one rock after the other. After being there at least a hundred times, she had memorized the cliffside almost perfectly.
"Ouch!" Well, almost perfectly. She had slipped off the last few stepping stones and onto the beach. She grumbled a curse under her breath and rubbed her rear end. "Stupid cliffside," she mumbled, turning slowly to the sea.
Although she had seen it over a hundred times in books, in magazines, brochures, it had never even compared to every time she had seen it in real life. A small grin crept onto her face, her eyes less distant as she gazed over the waves of the deepest water. "Ah, the sea. How I wish I could swim into your depths," she murmured, crawling onto one of the rocks in the shallow tides.
Peacefulness swept over her as the sweet sound of the lapping waves entered her ears. She was too entranced by the scene to notice the glowing emerald eyes gazing at her. The eyes stared in bewilderment. 'So . . . enchanting.' The sudden sound of a small echo of a pebble was louder than it seemed.
"Who's there?" called out the girl, her eyes darting towards the sound of the echo. The eyes looked startled and closed tightly, hoping they wouldn't be found. The ocean air created droplets of water on her bare legs and face. Strands of raven hair were being tossed around in the breeze of saltwater. Sky-blue eyes were glowering down off the edge of the cliff near the small rocky beach. She shoved her hands into her hoodie pockets and mumbled.
"Yo, Digi! Hello? Anyone there?" A palish hand waved in front of her face, making her turn towards the all too familiar faces of the twin mermen. The jade-haired twins grinned at her, their faces always so animated. Digi smiled at them and waved, carefully sliding off the rock into the water, only pausing to glance back at the cave.
"What's wrong Di? See old Nessie over there?" joked Rooble, the elder or the two. Digi shook her head and dove into the water with the twins, ready to play in the coral once again.

"See ya tomorrow Digi!" called the twins, diving back into the beautiful abyss, their green, scaly tails showering water droplets onto the young teen. She laughed heartily, running her pale hand through her drooping ebony hair. 'Those two are much too predictable,' she thought.
The emerald eyes were gazing at her once again. They held a small sign of hurt to them. 'If only,' we're the words echoing through the figure's head. Just then, a loud metal clank against the rocks made the figure startled. He backed away a bit, but then made eye-contact with Digi.
"Hey! You little spy!" Digi yelled, sprinting and clambering over the rocks towards the cave. The figure panicked and ran back into the cave, the sound puddles of water being disturbed mercilessly echoed through the dark cavern.
"Wait! Get back here!" The raven-haired girl finally collapsed onto a few jagged rocks, one piercing her side a bit. She grunted in pain, quickly clasping her hand over the small injury and wearily standing on her feet again. She cursed under her breath and stumbled forward, more cautiously this time.
There was the echoing of a loud SPLASH down the cavern away. It was becoming harder to see in the dimming light. Plus, Digi's senses had nearly been shot due to the blow by the fall, thus making her eyesight blurry. "Damn rocks," she hissed.
She scaled the walls of the cave carefully, not wanting to kill herself in the process of finding the little spy. As she took another step, she tumbled into the deep pool of ocean water beneath her. She felt herself losing breath already as she sank into the depth's more. Darkness began to overwhelm her. The final thing she saw were green eyes.
