ring. ring. ring. ring. ring.
"hey, it's elaine, i'm crying on my front porch right now. matt, you were all i needed. but you were all she needed too. one week really isn't that long, monica was right. matt, you got the best of me... please leave a message after the tone."
...
"i love you, elaine."
"i love you too, matt."
just a couple of kids.
he laid his legs across my lap, and i leaned down for a kiss. we escaped the world. he gripped the seat, the escape from reality intensifying. the radio was playing. "loose hearted lady, sleepy was she, love for the devil brought her to me..." the soft beat complimented the sweet lust of the moment that would be our last. i completely lost myself.
something was wrong.
"matt, please take me home now. i'm tired as hell."
"anything, baby."
matt climbed back into the front driver's seat, took a hit of crack, turned the key, and drove steadily through the night. a light drizzle came about, soft raindrops patting on the windshield, windshield wipers sliding across the glass. swop, swop. swop, swop.
in a few minutes, we arrived at my house. he got out of the car, walked around and opened my door, and we walked to my porch. i waved as he got in the little rusty, red stationwagon and drove off.
there's something shiny in the grass.
matt's dropped his cell phone.
i picked it up and jumped, as it vibrated loudly in the night, the screen lighting up with a new text.
new text from: monica
5/2/09 11:43 pm
body: matt, i know it's late, but i just want you to know that i love you more than anything. you're more than i could ever ask for. i'm so happy being with you. i trust you with everything, my one and only. this past week has been the best of my life. your lips are my escape from reality. thanks for giving me butterflies every time you come around. if i lost you, i don't know what i'd do. it's only been a week, but i've never felt this way before. i love you <3333
i'll never listen to aerosmith again...
...
beep.
"oh, elaine... welcome to hell."
...
"nothing good is on. just bullshit."
monica took a sip of her expresso and flipped through channels. she stopped on the news. screw it. she picked up the phone and dialed a number.
ring. ring.
"good morning, hon."
"hey, matt."
"why did you call my house phone?"
"i tried your cell, but i just kept getting your voicemail."
"oh. sorry. it died last night, and i forgot to charge it. anyway, what would you be up to, pretty young thang?"
giggle.
"not much, just watching the news."
and now we have a quite tragic story. last night in akron, two parents came home from work to find their fourteen-year-old daughter elaine foster lying on their porch, killed with a steak knife. her murderer? fourteen-year-old matt winslow, her boyfriend of six months. cameras in their intruder alarm system caught a disturbing ans shocking scene, which the foster family did not wish to share with the public.
nearby the murder scene was a cell phone, which supposedly belonged to elaine's boyfriend and murderer, with an opened text from another girl whom he had an affair with while dating elaine. this text revealed that matt and the other girl were madly in love.
evidence shows that bipolar, drug-abusive manic-depressive and severely mentally sick matt winslow returned to the house to find that foster was reading his text. outraged, his severe crack cocaine addicion and mental illnesses drove him to murder the poor, young girl. he then returned home, as if nothing had happened.
sad, sad story. more details will be revealed as they come in.
7 news, miami.
monica dropped her expresso. the cup shattered and the coffee created a massive puddle of brown all over her living room hardwood floor.
"matt, you b*****d..."
...
beeeeeeeeeeeeeeep.
if you would like to make a call, please press phone and dial the number you wish to reach.
THE END.
