I See What You See
-Ariel Reid-
She was taking her time at her locker today, making everything perfect. Yawn. Of all the people to live through, why her? My name's Malcolm, by the way, and her name is Jean.
She's cute and adorable, independent and kind, but totally predictable. She's sweet and warmhearted, inspiring and has stolen my heart, but never spontaneous. Jean is boring, and I see what she sees.
I see her friends, who are good like her and similarly make us laugh, like one identity, inseparable, permanent. And I see what she sees.
I see her school, which is educated like her and similarly teaches us, like one scholar, entwined, unyielding. And I see what she sees.
But mostly, I see her, she who is everything and anything and elates, saddens, disturbs, enlightens, frightens, frustrates, pains, informs, confuses, delights me, like one being, sewn together, forever.
I am Malcolm, I am Jean's mind, and I see what she sees.
