The moon was high in the sky, its power growing as the hour grew closer to midnight. Phillip felt the change coming. The hair on the back of her neck stood up, then a prickling sensation was all over his body. His ears and spine grew longer, so that he had a wolf's tail and ears. His hands and feet's transformation in to paws was quick, and he fell on to them, his transition to wolf form complete.
The werewolf raised his dog-like snout and howled for the rest of his pack, and waited for them to come. It took an excruciatingly long time, but the two eventually entered the clearing surrounded by shrubs and trees.
“Hey Phil," A silver she-wolf said. " If you wanted to see me that badly, you could have just come over, not called the whole pack."
" Leave me alone, Katie." Phillip said, rolling his green eyes.
“Admit it," Katherine said. " You like me."
" Not now, children." Verin sat, his gray fur moving as he breathed in and out, the breath not coming easily for him. “I’m getting too old for this. Get on with whatever you have to report."
"But not everybody's here."
“Alana and John are busy." Katie said, as if this was obvious.
“Oh," Phillip sat, copying Verin. Katie lay on her stomach, her usual position for these meetings. The wolf cleared his throat before he spoke. " There is a new vampire in the city."
" New vampires come every week or so, 'tard." Katie said, resting her head on her paws. " Their not a problem."
" Yeah, but this new one is different. All the humans she drinks die." he replied. Kate looked mildly worried, and Verin looked as if he was going to kill something, preferably the vampire. “She doesn’t suck just some of it; she gets it all, and doesn’t wipe the witness's memories.”
" Oh no." Katie gasped. " She'll expose everyone: vampires and werewolves."
"We'll go with the same plan as last time, but since the target is female, Phillip can be the bait.” Verin looked at Phillip, continuing. “This is very serious. Befriend her, get her to a secluded place, and then we'll eliminate her."
" Yes sir.” Phillip nodded, as was customary.
“Alright then, dismissed!" And they were gone, as quickly as they had come.

Phillip walked to his locker, his spine tingling, but not in the familiar sense that came with transformation. He was scared. His inner werewolf warned:" Be careful, she can pop out from anywhere!" He squeezed his eyes shut, trying in vain to get rid of the feeling.
“Stupid Verin," he thought. “I hate this job." He crashed in to someone and fell to the ground. He opened his eyes and saw a girl, specifically his target. She had pale skin and black hair and was picking up her books frantically.
“Sorry," She said. " My fault."
" Oh, it's okay," Phillip replied, helping her up. “The fault is all mine. I'm Phillip, by the way."
" Clarisse," She said. “I’m new. Do you know where" here she looked at her schedule. " Building B is?"
" Yes, “Phillip replied with a nod. "Its' this way."
They walked down the hall and out of the building. Clarisse directed him behind the cafeteria, asking to know what was there. Before Phillip realized it, they were alone and holding hands.

Katherine followed them out of the building, trigonometry book in hand. She uttered a low growl as Phillip and the target's hands grew closer together. She stifled her soft howl when they made contact.
“He’s just doing his job." She thought as she got out her cell phone. “Just acting." She dialed Verin's number and waited for him to pick up, still shadowing her target and the bait.
" Found her?"
" Yeah," Kate replied. “They’re behind the cafeteria. Is that secluded enough for you?"
" Good enough. We're coming in about five minutes."
" That long?" Kate gasped. " I don't know if we can keep her there that long; class starts in five minutes."
" Well you'll have to, John and I need our coffee."
Katie was shocked. Her mouth dropped open, but she soon regained control. “You know what?" She spat. “Damn you, damn John, and damn your coffee. We'll get her ourselves."
"Wait-" The phone clicked shut and Katie stuffed it in her pocket. It vibrated, but she ignored it. She knew she was being hot-headed, but she didn't care. All that mattered was that the vampire was eliminated.
The girl looked back over to them. Strains of their conversation could be heard, and it made her feel sick.
“Let’s break through... love and be together... create a super species and drive out all the humans ... power." The target said. Phillip shook his head, and said something that couldn't be heard. Kate saw the target move closer and closer, and then closer still. Then she kissed him. Katherine bit her lip to stop from crying out.
Phillip seemed to be enjoying it. His hands ran through the target's hair as she moved down to his neck. It took Kate a couple seconds to realize what was happening, and by then it was too late.
"No!" She ran forward, and the vampire dropped Phillip to the ground just as she got there. Kate fell forward on to him and cradled his head in her arms. Behind her, the vampire spoke.
“Well this is nice." Kate turned towards Phillip's killer, her eyes streaming with tears. Clarisse looked down at her, her smile pitiless and cold. " I've always wanted to taste werewolf blood, and now I have an excess of it."
" You monster!" Kate yelled. " I loved him and you killed him!"
" How was I to know?" Clarisse replied, a small smile appearing on her lips. “He didn't tell me. Besides, your kind killed my love too."
With that, Clarisse dove upon Katherine and sucked her blood, enjoying the werewolf's terror.
“Delicious," She said to herself as she stood up again. “So sweet, yet sour at the same time.” The vampire left their corpses behind, wiping her lips on her sleeve. “I love it."
Kate and Phillip lay, staring at the sky with glassy eyes. Though nobody would notice, their hands were touching. They would spend the rest of eternity together and never be separated.
